Manager eventually attempted and promised to compensate for disastrous reception and room switch, but in reality, the partial refund never occurred and we wound up paying for a suite only to end up with a regular king bed room. Reception upon arrival was simply unacceptable. Entry to the hotel parking lot was blocked by construction tape which we eventually navigated around, only to find a sign at the desk saying staff would return in 15 minutes. We waited in 90 degree heat for their return, only to be directed to our unprepared suite which was 84 degrees inside. So in addition to no parking access upon arrival, there was extremely limited ground for pet relief, and then no apology for failure to have our room occupancy ready. After 30 minutes of sweating in a hot room, the manager appeared and I convinced him to provide a reasonable alternative. He switched us to a king bed room (not a suite as paid for) and promised a 50% discount on our prepaid rate. While they did refund our pet deposit, the prepaid suite was never reimbursed. The simple matter is, their repair work was not managed properly, sealing off the entire parking access, then rather than deal with it from a customer service vantage point, the staff argued we should just book somewhere else and get a refund! We did not have time to re-book after waiting so long to get in, and the manager's final solution sounded acceptable compensation for an awful initial impression, but apparently had no seriousness of follow-up
