"Stayed here Mon-Fri. My initial opinion of this place was very good. Staff were very friendly and appeared efficient. Check-in was easy. Rooms are very good with a ceiling fan and additional tower fan in the room which was helpful during the recent spell of hot weather. Breakfast was good. Couldn’t connect my laptop to their wifi so had to use mobile network. Food in the restaurant was good and delivered piping hot but service is slow and food is a bit pricey. "Apartment was very spacious with everything we needed. A continental breakfast was provided which was appreciated. We had dinner at the pub one night and it was delicious. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of parking available. There is no lift and entry/exit is via external fire exit stairs at the rear of the building."

"Loved old architecture"

"Bed was lovely and comfortable. Room was very nice. Struggling to get in and out of the shower. Staff on the whole were lovely but felt there was an atmosphere of discontentment amongst staff. Food expensive with service charge added without giving us the opportunity to say no. Rats running around the skip outside. Needs a general paint job outside. Leaving on a positive the breakfast was lovely."

"Evening meals were good. Garden was also pleasant. A lot of traffic noise especially with windows open in the hot weather. Timing of breakfasts poor especially at weekends; surely don't have to have last orders at 9.30am. Appeared under-staffed with long delays ordering drinks at the bar"

"We have stayed here before several times but this time was really disappointing. We booked an accessible room but on arrival we were told this wasn't available and we were on the first floor. It was fortunate my operation for a knee replacement was postponed or I wouldn't have managed the stairs (no lift). The first floor room was stifling as it was during the ongoing heatwave. No fan provided. We went straight to get a cold drink (having driven 200 miles we were parched). Ordered the drinks...

"Lovely pub, wonderful lunch, tasty breakfast and lovely bedroom. "

"It’s a real pub, so smokers and drinkers in the courtyard as we were shown to our room. Spotless and allowed to enter it early as it was ready for us. Staff were very welcoming and the choice and quality of breakfast was excellent."
