La misère et les maladies font chuter l’espérance de vie vers 23 ans aux 17ème et 18ème siècles. A la révolution, le décret du 14 frimaire an II décidait l’assèchement des étangs.le décret avait pour objet de « rendre à la santé et à la vie des milliers de Français qui moissonnent, chaque année, avant le terme marqué par la nature des maladies produites par les funestes émanations des étangs ». (ahrf.revues.org/pdf/449) Le paludisme régressa en Sologne probablement grâce, en partie, à l’apparition de la quinine. Les solognots réexploiteront les étangs. "We wanted something special for our last night of our 2 week road trip and we found it. A lovely place off the main road on a farm. Very comfortable beds and because of the shutters we were able to shut out the early morning sun. So we got a very good night's rest. In the morning we were greeted by our host with a wonderful basket of croissant, bread and pain au chocolat which we were able to eat on the terrace at the back. Thanks you for making this a perfect end to our holiday."

"Amazing domain, really good spa with best hamam I ever did. Rooms are nice, bathroom is a kind of wet room so we where afraid to splash water everywhere, but walls looked coated in water tight layer. Breakfast was tasty with all kind off local produce. Not the biggest selection, but more than enough for a good filling breakfast. Only remark would be that due to off season nobody was on the property. This made for a really relaxing stay on one hand, but we could find nobody to buy a bottle of...
