"Arrived at 4:30 and was told the room was not ready. Offered another "just the same" room. I agreed. It was not the same. Booked a single BR with a king bed and fireplace. What I got was a single BR with 2 queen beds and no fireplace. After a four hour drive and hauling our suitcases and bags to the room, (we are in our 70's) we decided to stay. After check in I found hole in the bathroom door, a half done ceiling patch and picture windows you could barely see through due to paint over spray on the outside. In the kitchenette, we got 1 fork, 1 spoon, 2 butter knives and two 10 inch butcher knives. There were 2 wine glasses but only 1 juice glass and 1 plastic cup. Went to the office for silverware and was given 2 plastic forks. Coffee was good (pods) but that was about it. Overall the property was just poorly maintained. I realize it is an older property but some things are preventable."
"I had the oceanfront king size bed Jacuzzi room, which was absolutely amazing. After sitting on the deck, watching the sun go down over the ocean. I hopped in that Jacuzzi tub. It was so relaxing. I couldn’t hear the people on either side of me. I would definitely stay here again. "
Lincoln Sands Oceanfront Resort, an Ascend Collection Hotel
6/10 Okay
"We stayed there for 5 nites. Everything was only OK. The room rate was a different amount for every single nite! The "suite" that we had was spacious enough, but there was no table and chairs, so no place to sit and eat or work if needed. There was a small fridge and microwave, so where do you eat - on the bed? The screen door to the balcony was torn and slid very roughly on the track - like one of those cheap 50's aluminum screen doors. The balcony railing was extremely rough - paint peeling and splinters everywhere. Looked really bad. The breakfast was typical eggs, sausage (no bacon), biscuits and gravy, cereals, breads and yogurt. But the eating area was very small - only 4 indoor tables! Our room phone was broken, and the bathroom sink was about 90% plugged, so draining was very slow. And we had to just about beg the front desk to get housekeeping to our room once during our stay. The ocean view was nice. We won't be back."
"Excellent view of the ocean. The room was spacious. The Murphy bed near the patio was nice, which made it easier to see the ocean. Bathroom could have used a little more cleaning. The room didn't have charging ports for electronics. Was noisy at times as we could hear the guests above us. The hotel had its own beach access, which we liked. The staff was friendly and helpful."
