Excellent room with three queen bed was a big plus for the group we traveled with. It is right off the pool area and is very nice abnd spacious. The room could use room darkening curtains to make sleeeping a bit more comfortable. Quiet and safe area. A bit off the I 29 when traveling through but not too bad considering the great room rate. Staff and manager were friendly and helpful when we needed things.

Positive: The hotel, room was very clean. Parking was convenient. Staff was very good. Negative: The mini fridge did not work, didn't realize til morning. Sunday morning, 6:30 am there was no hot water!

I'm sorry there were any issues with your stay. I haven't had any issues with the mini fridge you are referencing. I will make sure to check into that. We recently replaced our water heater, and it does take a little longer to heat up, I will have the plumber come back and look at it. I hope you will choose to stay with us again and give us the opportunity to improve on your next stay.

The place had expired milk for the cereal. They had limited food to eat place smelled like cigarettes and just over the worst place to stay.

I am sorry you were unhappy with your stay. I was unhappy with the 10 guests you tried to have stay in your room alotted for 5 guests maximum. We have to follow the fire code and make sure all of our guests are safe and protected. I am sorry I had to have your rent a second room to accomdate your guests. I have a job to make sure everyone is safe and accounted for. It was not an issue about availability. Your registered for 4 adult guests. You exceeded that amount by 6 people. We offer a cold breakfast for our registered guests. The milk you are speaking of had an expiration date of 10/1. I changed the milk out at 5am on 10/1 with an expiration date of 10/17/23. I would have had more items available for breakfast, but I had several unregistered guests that ate the food that was available for registered guests. I didn't know I needed to have for guests I didn't know were coming.I had no complaints of cigarette smoke or expired milk by anyone (including you) during the time of your stay. I surely would have addressed these issues you had. I hope in the future you will understand the need to rent multiple rooms when you have so many guests. It's a safety issue and I was doing my job. At our hotel we do not charge for additional guests as long as they do not exceed the fire code limits. As a general manager, I have to know the number of guests in the hotel. If we were to have a fire, and 43 guests are registered here I need to account for 43 people. If you have an additional 6 people in your room, then you are endangering the lives of everyone. If there were true issues with milk and cigarette smoke I would have thought you would have brought it to my attention when you were here. You had no complaints until after you had to rent the additional room. We had a nice conversation at breakfast on Saturday and you didn't mention any issues. I cannot fix things I am not aware of. I'm sorry this visit did not work out for either of us.

Compared with other hotels I've stayed in with similar pricing, an "average" rating for this hotel would be an exaggeration. Getting the flies out of the rooms should be near the top of the list of things needed to be done.

Nice hotel in Clear Lake
Nice hotel in this small town. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Nice pool area, as well. My one complaint is no ice machine. There were only two restaurants open in Clear Lake on a Thursday night - a bar & grill and a pizza place.

The front desk lady was very nice and apologized for the hair. It was my fault to not tell her about the bed. She didn't know to fix it. I definitely would stay here again. She was very helpful and sweet. I recend my review from before if I can. Thank you

I got the notice from expedia that you requested a first floor room to which I responded immediately that 1st floor was unavailable. I tried to give you notice that we wouldn't be able to accommodate your request as I already had guests staying in all our 1st floor rooms. I gave you ample notice to make other arrangements if second floor was not acceptable. You apparently did not read the response I sent 10 minutes after you booked. I had a full house when you booked and unfortunately could not accommodate your request. In the future if you require a first floor room, you need to make reservations earlier and follow up with us directly. Had a room been available on first floor I would have accommodated your request. You were here or graduation as were all of the other guests. The other guests made their reservations and were in their rooms prior to you even booking your room. Unfortunately I am not a contractor and could not build a first floor room for you. Next time, please contact the property earlier and directly to have your request accommodated.

First impression consisted of a number of different signs declaring what to do and not do including cleaning mud off boots, appropriate use of HER towels, and stealing of hotel property being a crime. The room itself was unbelievably tacky with two headboards attached to the wall but only one bed, only one picture in the room and that was obscured by a refrigerator, unmatched lamps from a garage sale, and a place where a light had been removed but the holes hadn’t been filled and the wall not repainted. The breakfast foods apparently sat out all the time, with a sign to only eat them between 6 and 10 am. Huge tub of cream cheese in the refrigerator for anyone to dig into as well as an undated basket of hard boiled eggs. Very uncomfortable with potential lack of sanitation so chose to go elsewhere for breakfast. Not really a huge deal but if you’re counting on breakfast at the hotel, you need to be aware. We would avoid this chain of hotels in the future.

I am sorry your visit wasn't up to our standards. I strive every day to make each visit pleasant and comfortable. Unfortunately, I do not know where we were lacking during your visit because nothing was brought to my attention. Great Location Great Service
My stay in Clear Lake was outstanding. Daina the General Manager was a 10 oit of 10 on helpfulness, starting with confirming my reservation ahead of time, smooth check in even though I was a late arrival, and a complimentary upgrade! The location is clean, quiet and comfortable. I stayed in Clear Lake for a track meet at South Dakota State...30 miles away but an easy commute.
