Room was clean and well equipped with the exception there was no safe and zero counter space in the bathroom but I made do by hanging my toiletry bag on the door hook. Shower also was slow to drain and water ended up on floor and bath mat got wet. However, overall I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Gin gives you a “welcome home” greeting so sincerely and warmly that it actually feels real. The place is lovely, fun, beautiful, cozy, and a great location for walking to town or the lovely shops nearby. Wonderful value and great way to experience NZ hospitality.

Great Find

Great find, the owners were really friendly and extremely helpful. Room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Stayed two nights and the towels were changed and toiletries replenished. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and shops. Approx 30 min walk into Christchurch town centre.

Refurbished to high standard, beautiful old hotel

We felt really comfortable here because the owner/managers were helpful, welcoming, lovely people. The hotel looks old and stylish and it is refurbished to a high standard. We chose a room with a jacuzzi bath which was great. It’s situated near the main road but we didn’t find it loud inside our room. Facilities for food prep were useful and we made our own breakfast and light lunch. There are great cafes and restaurants very nearby too, great quality and budget prices. There is a good shopping mall less than five minutes walk away too. It’s in a great location for the city centre too - a 20 minute walk there and a cheap eleven dollar Uber back again will make you feel good. There’s loads to see and enjoy in the centre. Christchurch was are favourite city of all NZ cities.
