We stayed in the Executive Suite on the 4th floor. Really nice room with separate bedroom and lounge area where lounge converts to a sofa bed. It included 2 bathrooms and 2 coffee/tea making areas. Property was nearly brand new. Lovely outlook from all rooms however, on a Friday/Saturday night can be extremely noisy due to events in Cathedral Square and traffic noise. We were in 406 so the opposite corner facing towards the Port Hills would have been quieter. Staff were really nice to talk to. Buffet Breakfast was average and very small selections at $30. Coffee/Tea was just heated hot water. No specialised coffee machine and barista coffee would have been an added cost.

We didn’t like that we were given a disabled room and when we spoke to staff about it we were told if we didn’t want a disabled room we should have noted that on the booking Would have thought it would be the other way around

Location was very good. Front desk isnt staffed 24hours but they have a number for you to call. Rooms are a little tight but expected for a downtown location. Price was competitive as well.

Very well located hotel in the centre of town. Clean, comfortable beds, great shower. Room has a refrigerator ( although ours did not work), tea and coffee options. No microwave which I think now a days should just be available in every room. GREAT parking option, $10/ day and safe. Yes, there are a few homeless people but it’s a big city and in no way did they impact our stay. Arrival staff were very helpful, departure staff less helpful. Would recommend this hotel. And a side note to Expedia, why do you ALWAYS get us a room right next to the elevator??? It would be interesting to know if this happens to other Expedia users!

Our executive suite was a corner unit with beautiful Mountain View. Daily housekeeping, beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant, very efficient elevator, marble bathroom but no body lotion. Walkable to all places. Highly recommend.

My room was lovely with a comfortable bed. It was clean, nicely furnished and very roomy. Fabulous tea choices, the shower was fantastic with incredible water pressure and I was quite pleased. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Other reviews mentioned people who are homeless ourside. It seems to me that every major city has that issue, Christchurch is no different and it's not the fault of the hotel. Should I find myself in Christchurch again I woukd definitely book a room here again.

All good, but a bit of a shock to learn that we had booked a room with no windows. Turns out that if you read the fine, fine print, it is disclosed. They offered to upgrade us for $100NZD. No thank you. The room was clean and quiet - no complaints.

We stayed at 1st floor facing parking/office building, and we heard loud noises (3-5 minutes) for 1-2 times every midnight. Aside from this, the general condition is good. Great location at the city center.

Homeless hub
New, comfortable hotel in a great location. Wouldn’t stay there again - lots of homeless outside sitting by the main entrance - some with pit bulls. Plus the reception is not manned 24 hours.

The hotel facilities are good and Christchurch is a beautiful city. However, I was turned off that there was a drunk homeless man sleeping on the ground right next to the from door and several other homeless people mulling around the streets. This is not necessarily the fault of the hotel (though could’ve forced them to leave). The worker at the desk said “they don’t hurt anyone just will ask for change”. This is an unacceptable attitude. I don’t book a hotel to walk by homeless addicts to get to my room. An ambulance was called because the guy was not around able. As a physician, I stopped to help and spoke with the man. He was in no distress, but was drunk and sleeping it off. Even others in the area who stopped said he was an a@@hole and left him alone. One should not have that experience when staying at a hotel. Christchurch and this hotel seriously need to address this problem because it is a blight on otherwise beautiful city. Also, parking/unloading is horrendous. There are perhaps there small spaces to unload and they are taken by cars that park for far too long. Had to drive around block 4 times until could find a place to unload and check in. Then have to purchase parking pass for secure garage. Although the hotel was nice, these two features would prevent me from staying there again.

This newly built boutique hotel hits the mark: tastefully decorated, well appointed and efficiently laid out rooms with a good bar/restaurant on the roof. Staff seem to enjoy their work (which says lots). Super central location.

Hotel is new and very good condition, room is clean and very well insulated. Missing few things toiletries, cutlery. Overall enjoyed the stay, they offer $10 parking per exist which saved us a lot on parking.

We visited Christchurch during the early spring and while it is a bit of a drive from the airport, it has everything you need right next to it. Any food, shopping, etc. all in walking distance. The bar/restaurant on the rooftop offers a solid view of the city and has a mellow vibe. Drinks are pretty pricy though.
