Great rooms big space for a family or groups. Lovely clean tidy warm rooms. Fully equipped kitchen .good car parking . Excellent friendly staff very helpful Will definitely stay again .

Friendly owner. Clean and tidy, relaxing. The outside lights are very bright and shine through the curtains otherwise everything was fantastic!

Affordable hotel with excellent staff.
Affordable, clean, excellent staff, good for out of towners on a budget. The manager was knowledgeable of amenities in the area. A short walk from the door a gas station, supermarket various take away options.

Location good for me as it was close to where family live - and close to a supermarket.. Quiet, even though close to a reasonably busy road. Great to have a two bedroom unit with a living area with comfortable chairs A bath stool was provided as requested for one of our group. Note: Reception hours are not the same as advertised on Wotif, but they left a message and left the unit set up for us.

Arcadia was on a perfect spot for our weekend trip. Not busy like right in the CBD but close enough and easy to drive anywhere. Staff turned heatpump on for us prior to our arrival so the room was very warm and cozy for the chilly night we arrived. A bonus was they have a very good Indian restaurant in the walking distance! - actually there's 2 of them but I'm talking about the one close to Arcadia, I will recommend to anyone who stays in this area.

Thankfully we were able to gain access to our room quite late in the evening as we had traveled quite a distance to get there . It was comfortable and tidy. The facilities were adequate although we didn't really have time to make use of the. We woud stay there again if we needed accommodation in that area.

Perfect location - 5 min walk to our destination.
Very friendly and helpful owner of Arcadia Motel. Would loved to have been able to stay longer to discover more around but time factor being close to Xmas couldn't allow the stay to be longer.

Highly recommend
My friends and I stayed here on a recent trip to Christchurch and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious, comfortable, and included everything we needed and more. Be sure to visit Christchurch and stay at Arcadia!

Away from the crumbling ruins of Christchurch.
It is located next to a river which is quite nice. It is also located near main roads and a bus route, and also a shopping strip. And yet it was reasonably quiet at night, which was a relief. The rooms were cosy, there are a couple of comfy armchairs as well as an outdoor table and chairs

Great motel, on the airport bus route!
Grest value for money, easy to get to in the purple bus line from the airport. Staff super friendly and informative. Comfy beds and very clean, although a little dated (bathroom mainly).

The accommodation is very basic but it was extremely clean. The bathroom needs updating. The position was ideal for our family reunion. The staff were very good and dealt with requests quickly.

Christchurch Motel
The motel was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. I was able to check in a little early, by agreement, as I was early arriving to the city by plane. I'd recommend this motel to anybody.

Nice restaurants within walking distance
Beds were not made in the 4 nights we stayed, hot drink sachets were not restocked either, there was no fan in bathroom and dirt and condensation dripping down behind the toilet door and mold in the shower. Cups, plates and utensils were not washed and rubbish was not emptied. I was very disappointed and seriously considered just leaving and finding other accommodation. The room was very dated and suffered serious wear and tear.

We stayed at the Arcadia as my son was starting a course the following day quite early, in close proximity tI the motel. It was convenient but not comfortable and warm. The studio we stayed in was really cold and had a less than adequate wall heater that turned itself off every 15 mins.

Convenient location. The unit was presented in a clean tidy condition. Receptionist friendly and helpful. Unit has been well used and kitchenette/bathroom showing signs of wear. Walls are not soundproofed. Late at night you could hear people talking two units away. Heating for unit is panel heater in lounge and fan heater in bathroom. The fan heater is extremely loud and it's hard to hold a conversation in the lounge while it is going. Panel heater controlled by timer set at 90 minutes. Great for keeping running costs down. But outside temperatures at night were 3 to 5 degrees. Woke up several times at night during the stay freezing cold. Push the timer and back to sleep. Would stay again especially in summer. Reasonable value for money.

Cozy Little place in Christchurch.
Our night 1 in NZ at Christchurch, Arcadia Motel. Its is an approximate 20-30 minute from the airport. If you are driving shouldnt be a problem at all. Great Place and very comfortable. We arrived at midnight at Christchurch airport and by the time we reached the motel, it was 2.30. the room was kept open - thanks to advance communications. the room was cozy and comfortable. I liked it. Although when I stayed in other places in the subsequent days in my NZ tour across other cities, I can now look back and say that the unit was a little bit dated. But that is a very minor thing and to be honest, I loved my first night stay here. The hosts next morning were very helpful and courteous. the motel is well spread out. The room had cooking facilities. When you come in late at night, people might prefer hotels close to airport, but for me, if you have a car, it doesnt really matter. In fact we got to see a bit of christchurch in the night as we drove to the motel I would definitely recommend.

The place is roomy for 2-3 people, we enjoyed staying there and the motel facilities. The reception by the man in charge was warm and cordial. But the internet service was shockingly disappointing. Not only that there were connection problems, time consuming, from the beginning, but it keeps being interrupted. And - it is not really free as promised: They gave us 2 vouchers (for our 2 nights stay), one which had already expired before use, and the second was also valid only for part of the stay and expired suddenly. When we wanted to get another voucher, the woman in charge was unpleasant and we were told that we should pay extra. Not really free, is it? We badly needed the internet then, and were seriously disappointed.
