Really enjoyed the time here. Restaurant on property is amazing. Lobster chowder is a must! Was upset some things like horseback riding and boats were not available. Massage in the spa was terrible… hence why I took a star off. Beautiful scenery and felt homy. Enjoyed the time but next time will try other similar resorts.

We are glad to hear that your stay was filled with lots of good bits. Unfortunately, you found some of our seasonal activities unavailable, such as horseback riding and boating - as those are seasonally available in the Summer and Fall months due to safety with weather conditions. We do, however, offer horse-drawn sleigh rides with draft horses in the winter and encourage you to participate the next time you're with us in the colder months. We are also sorry to hear that your experience at our spa was not to your satisfaction. We are working to improve these experiences with our practitioners as we move forward. Thank you again for your review - and hopefully you get the chance to visit us again soon when we have a little bit more sunshine!

I loved the view from my room. I rode 3 times. The stable hands were wonderful. Their companionship and oversight during each ride was Great! Safety was priority! The stable staff was knowledgeable about each animal and loved each animal. Additionally, the inside serving staff was very helpful and competent. Thank you,

The Mountain Top Inn is a fine lodge. Note that if you're skiing though you likely want to find a spot closer to the ski resorts. Most of this lodge seems to focused on weddings and events. The sauna is part of the spa closes at 2pm daily so don't plan for an after ski sauna. Also the resort fees seem a bit much when most resort activities are closed Sunday - Wednesday. Otherwise pleasant stay and the resort staff were friendly and helpful, just limited in options.

You can't beat the Mountain Top if in Chittenden
Gorgeous part of the world if you are looking for remoteness. Great views, restaurant on site also good. Houses have small kitchenettes if you want to heat foot or store in a fridge.

Manager horrible
My husband ,sister and I dropped off my son at college in Vermont. We wanted to mini vacation at this resort . I called to get a 2 bedroom suite . They recommended the suite we booked it . When we arrived the main hotel has beautiful views . We were told to go to our room which was 3 min drive away. I paid double the price of a room at the main hotel. The suite was part of half of the house. No view and a small spiral staircase. My husband happened to sprain his ankle earlier in the week . I went to the front desk to get another room . I even asked for a single room with two beds and would pay the price and no refund if it was less. They gave us the other half of the house which had more stairs and two twin beds on first floor. I went back to ask if they could give us a single room w 2 Queen beds . But because of a wedding we could not get it .also we could not use tge pool or jacuzzi because of the wedding. I then said we will have dinner then check out and drive home . We had driven 4 hours there and was driving now 4 hours home . We got hone at midnight. I called management the next morning. Not to get refunded but to let them know and maybe get a discount on the room we paid 500 a night plus for the 300 in the dining room . Even a future stay for the inconvenience. The male manager treated us awful. At one point I asked why he was laughing ? He eventually comped our room however with his condescending ways I will not return . The service at the restaurant was very good

Highly recommend the Mountain Top Inn and Resort
We loved staying at the Mountain Top Inn and Resort. We stayed in the Trillium guest house. We loved the screened in porch and especially our very own private hot tub. After a long hike, this was a treat. In addition, the jetted tub in the master bathroom was the best I've ever been in. The only thing we missed was not having a couples massage, or any massage for that matter, as the spa was closed due to COVID. The food was amazing and they don't skimp out on their portions. I would definitely go back!!!

Relaxing Family Getawaty
We had a very nice long weekend enjoying the beautiful views, cocktails at the lodge, sledding and relaxing at the house. We rented Grand Vista and it was absolutely beautiful. Watching the horse drawn sleigh and cross country skiers go by while we sat in the hot tub was welcomed entertainment! Looking forward to going back.

Perfect Autumn location
The hotel’s location is perfect with a fabulous view. We stayed in one of the houses and it had everything that you could possibly want including a hot tub and the most comfortable beds. This was a perfect place for a relaxing weekend break in the Fall.

This place is just amazing. This is the first time we came up in the winter. We loved the snow shoeing. Everything was groomed. The staff is always amazing and helpful. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome!!!!!

best romantic place in Vermont
amazing romantic farm. we stayed in the main lodge . the room was big and beautiful. we stayed and read book in front of the fire pit. we snow shoe on the mountain next to the lodge. the restaurant has great food and service as the bar with local craft beer.

The assigned cabin had to be changed because of a strong vomit smell and we were in a lodge room for one day which wasn't as nice. The housekeeping staff should've known that the room was not fit for occupancy. They rectifieed the situation by refunding us a part of the booking for the day. The location is beautiful, the spa was great and the breakfast is top notch.

Spent a weekend in April at the Inn. My mother lives down the hill a bit and the house was full, so it is a treat to have this nearby. We really enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable, although TV reception was a bit fuzzy and standard def. I mention it because it was hockey playoff season. I ended up watching the Ranger/Canadians playoff game just off the lobby. No worries though, was able to go downstairs to the bar and bring up drinks to enjoy. Staff is friendly, food is well prepared. Continental breakfast is worthy. Scenery is beautiful. Would love to spend some time up here in the Summer when you can enjoy the lake. Love the area.

Mountain Top BLISS
We spent a weekend at Mountain Top for a wedding and besides our own is was the best wedding experience we've ever had! We stayed in the Trillium Cottage which was very spacious and clean. The beds were super comfortable and the hot tub was an added bonus on the cold nights. The cabin was just close enough to the main lodge to enjoy the restaurant/bar so if we didn't feel like driving for food/drink we didn't have to. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The wedding itself was beautiful and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. The newlyweds couldn't stop raving about how smooth everything went. I loved thus place and was so sad to leave!

Overall our stay was OK. I did not realize until we arrived that there was no downhill skiing at this location. The Inn also did not have an elevator and no one helped carry our luggage up the stairs. The front desk employees were nice and accommodating. The cleaning staff were wonderful. and the waiters and waitress's were fantastic.

Perfect getaway.
Amazing place for friends and family, beatiful lodge architecture, warm and a lot of space. Waking up in the morning with a sunrise over the mountains is breath taking. If you are planing a trip to Vermont for what ever reason this is a place to stay at. Killington peak is about 25 minute drive from the place, which is not bad at all. Best snowboarding weekend I had in years.

Nice place - don't recommend Brookside condos
The Mountain Top Inn main facility is very nice. They have a nice restaurant, beautiful facilities, a great activities center and a beautiful setting. Our condo, Brookside, needs some serious work. I think it would have been fairly priced save for the fact that the beds (especially the sofa bed) are in pretty poor conditions. If you can't get a decent night of sleep, a lot of other things don't matter. The sofa bed is literally shaped like a bowl and objects roll into the middle. We also found it pretty dusty - it may have not been occupied for a couple of weeks. These rooms need some TLC to match the standard of the rest of the inn.

Beautiful view hotel
My wife and I went there for a friend's wedding. From the moment you walk in the front door, you are treated like royalty. From the person at the front desk, to Ross the bar tender, to Sarah the horse and sleigh driver, Brooke the executive chef and Steve , one of the owners. Everybody was friendly and helpful. The views of the mountains and the lake are unbelievable. Food was great. We are definitely going back there again.

Short getaway
We only stayed for two nights but could not have been happier! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The views and grounds are beautiful. We loved the beautiful, quiet setting. It rained one of the days we were at the hotel, but the staff was eager to give recommendations of places to go for other indoor activities! We were extremely pleased to visit the Mountain Top Inn and will definitely return for another stay!
