My only inconvenience was unrelated to the hotel, but apparently there’s a venue near by with hugely loud speakers which started music at 4am and it didn't stop probable after 9am. "It's easy to stay at a generic box type hotel. The Strand has pedigree (See Raffles and E&O). It's a beautiful building with high ceilings. Beautifully decorated and clean. Very pleasant staff. Quiet and tranquil. Stay here for your first visit to Yangon, and you can always stay at a generic, branded hotel on a subsequent visit."
