Love our stay at Sunshine House for 3 nights. Good value!!! Easy check in, building and room are always clean! Very friendly staff... location not far from old city which reachable by walk.... 7-Eleven not far from the building and local seafood, Local pub and 24h self-service laundry just next door (with free detergent and softener...yess they are included!) Moreover Santitham restaurant next door make it as a simply because it’s the only place that serve good coffees and foods. Don't forget to try their fresh orange juice!

Excellent budget choice in quiet area!
Hard to beat its value/price ratio. Hotel is not too big, is in very good condition, clean and well maintained with friendly staff. Area is fine, good for sleeping as its green and quiet. Definitely will come back. Small disadvantage is late checkout - they charge 100THB per hour.

WiFi failed on New Year's Eve when I needed to speak to family. Advertised as business hotel with premium rates - no compensation offered for what became a serious frustration with no resolution. Emailed hotel, response stated it was a failure of external company - something I wouldn't expect the customer/client to suffer for without compensating in some way - especially on New Year.

Sunshine hotel is a quiet spot in a noisy town. It is safe and welcoming. It is just a little bit out of the way but walkable to plenty of food outlets. The front desk can order you a grab taxi (Uber) to take you anywhere very cheaply. You can also grab a red truck or tuktuk to return cheap. Room was very clean and spacious and comfortable and we'll priced. Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a real gem, very inexpensive ( about $25/night) tucked into a quiet street but close to great restaurants, bars and street food vendors. The front desk staff are super friendly and helpful and speak very good English. They were able to steer us to cheap bike rentals and a great place for Thai massage. I'd recommend Sunshine House in a heartbeat.

Everything is perfect except for wifi. every front desk staff i have met is extremely nice and willing to help, however, wifi in room is weak... can't even reach facebook... there is no hairdryer in room but can borrow from front desk.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. Always clean, comfortable, quiet, and affordable. Nimmenheimen road and Maya mall are close by which is a nice walk. Located in Santitham neighborhood. Lots of street food at night. 7 eleven and Tesco Lotus within walking distance. Room has refrigerator. Washing machine cost 20 baht per load. Can get soap for washing at front desk for 5 baht. Great place to stay!

Great value. Clean, great service. Beds are firm like most in SE Asia. Would definitely stay here again. Had a 4 day stay. Breakfast is coffee, banana and cracker but didn’t even expect that at the price paid.

Well the staff were super nice and spoke very VERRRYY good English compared to many Thai in Chiang mai. I should have booked this hotel longer because I made the mistake of booking phowadol place near the university and it was trash compared to this place (bugs, spiders mosquitos). This hotel was comfy, and felt like a hotel where you enjoy talking to the staff, and they enjoy helping you ... As an American who lives in a nice home in the USA, I recommend this place 100%

Sunshine House is amazing. Hotel is lovely, as are the staff. I lost my bearings 2 times (Thanks satnav) as hotel near mini roundabout with 5 exits. After a week at the unbearable J*smin* House in `old town`, I felt clean and refreshed. And, it is not so far to walk to Taipai Gate. There is a deposit of 500 B (returnable) but the respect I received made this not a problem. I arrived soaking wet from Songkran? my fault for using tuktuk, smelling like moat water, but still got respect.

Great stay overall. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful, bright and spacious rooms. Bed was exceptionally hard. Only bad thing about the place. Many people have written about this on their reviews. I hope management can do something about this. It is a lovely place to stay aside from this one terrible flaw.

Beautiful city
Very good hotel for a cheap price. The bed is not very confortable, but after a long day visiting the city you dont mind and fall asleep very quick. It is a beautiful city with a lot to visit, so make sure to stay at lease 3 to 4 days minimum! Its also here where the temples are the most amazing in Thailand. Finally, the staff is very friendly and ready to help.

Nice hotel in good location
My partner and I stayed 4 nights at Sunshine House. The hotel staff are all very helpful and friendly. The hotel is modern, clean and located outside old town but not an issue as there are plenty of nearby cafes and restaurants. The walk to old town is not far. We used Grab to get to a few destinations and it was cheap each time. About 70-100 baht to the airport. They offer tea, coffee, bananas and water in the reception area. Also there is a laundry in house for 40baht for a large machine and 20baht for the small washing machine. I'd recommend for a comfortable stay and also a great price.

Good,clean and quiet place to stay.The room they gave me first I did not like for it's red colors, but staff was friendly to change it for the upper floor with yellow walls, room was huge and with many windows,I could open it in early morning or at night and enjoy clean air. I loved it.Many nice and cheap local food near by(try red or green soup with pork bone) and 7/11. No complains , thanks to stuff !

The bed was hard the water pressure good. The refrigerator is a plus, hot water and coffee downstairs. Although you get a small balcony you can't smoke on it. I used grab everywhere but if I went back I would rent a scooter. Location is not close to anywhere.

Budget is the key word
Went because it was a good budget option for a night...left before I even stayed the night. The AC was obnoxiously loud, there were lamps in the room with the chords tied up because there were no outlets to plug them in, and the bed was the worst part. Tried to take a nap and couldn't even get close since it was like laying on concrete (I know Thai beds are typically hard, but this was a whole new level).

Quirky and cool.
Spent a week here end of October with my wife and our baby boy. Situated in the Nimman area but still close to the old city of Chiang Mai. The hotel was clean and functional. Staff were friendly but not many English speakers. Lots of Japanese guests. Good local street food scene. Would recommend.
