The property’s condition has deteriorated compared to my last visit. The housekeeping service standard has dropped. No proper replenishment of the toiletries essentials. The washing basin was not maintained well. Breakfast is standard with little or no variation daily.

The hotel is showing signs of aging and cleaning was a bit of a issue and the staff were happy to fix the problem. The hotel is in a great location and has a good breakfast choice in the the morning. Overall it is good value for money

The location is perfectly right at the Main Gate of the old town. It is the spot where all major events take place. Hotel is nice, big room, staff working hard to please. Breakfast buffet is good and the gym is adequate for a couple of days :-)

This hotel is just across from the Old City wall and at the start of the Sunday night market. Our room faced west so we could see a part of the market. We were surprised by how quiet the room was while the market was still going on. We would definitely stay here again. The room was comfortable and the staff were very nice and helpful. My only concern occurred during breakfast and this was not unique to this hotel. On many hotel buffets, we saw undercooked eggs being served. The eggs were cooked sunny side up but the whites were still runny in many cases. In fact they were mostly raw. I did receive properly cooked eggs when I asked for them and they remembered the next morning so I appreciated that.

The bath room is the only compliant as it is quite pack and I frequently knocked again the shower within that extremely tight glass box and I am fairly small size. Wonder how big size European clients could squeeze through! While the location of the hotel is good, about 15 minutes to airport and ten minutes to Chinatown where good local food and fruits markets are located, the hotel needs a little upgrade especially the stuffy and smelly corridors, A plus is that the flooring of the rooms are not covered with carpet. The lighting in the room is also on the dimmed side for those who wish to read at night.

I like it because Accessible to night markets, eateries and massage parlours. I dislike it because the hotel does not provide toothbrush and toothpaste, no clear instruction on use of room amenities (say if the bottle drinking water is complimentary or chargeable).

Not enough hot shower
Hotel location is just behind of Tha Phae Gate and it’s the best! Many noise and music until midnight but must know where is here and it’s a not serious problem. Room is narrow but cozy except not enough hot water especially evening (morning was much better). Also good service of free shuttle bus to/from Chiang Mai airport. Breakfast menu was every day same...

The staff were very friendly. Room was clean. I'm not sure if it is pure coincidence or planned but they gave me the same room for my 3 stays there. The wifi was very strong. I like staying at this hotel because of its location. One thing that was not to my satisfaction was the shower. Somehow, just can't get a balanced temperature for the water. The water suddenly became very hot for a short while and then became very cold for slightly longer period. And this cycle basically just continued. I did not give the feedback to the hotel as I didn't think that they could fix the problem within that short period, so I just lived with it. Hopefully, the hotel could review it when they read this feedback. For the last day bf, it seems like understaffed. I felt bad for the 2 gentlemen who worked so hard and I greatly appreciate their efforts.

M hotel at tapae gate
M hotel was chosen due to it's close proximity to the old city, just a turn away from the sunday market, walking distance to the major temples, just a pop downstairs for a quick bite and convenient shops nearby. the rooms are decent, i find the bed a bit of a getting use to and the pillows rather lumpy. service here is fantastic though, very friendly and helpful staff. the hotel provides free shuttle to and from the airport at specified timings. it's near the main road so it can be noisy at times.

I stay in this hotel because it close to Thaprae Gate Chiangmai and there is a Chiangmai Marathon event and this place located near the event, so it is comfortable for me to go to this event.

Good location hotel but could be better
Good location Hotel, just across Thapae Gate. Nice welcoming with complementary drink and fast check-in. Have a elevator to access rooms and free parking for our motorbike. Room has been refurnished but can observe some details that the old is still there as in some furniture and um the shower room area, as room it self is not sound proof as all noise from the hall can be heard inside the room and as we notice the door itself after closed doesn't block the sounds. Wifi was free but was very slow and for several occasions with no internet connection.Room was cleaned everyday , but at our first night we saw a little cockroach passing in the room's wall which didn't gave us a good impression about the room from the start. Breakfast was buffet style but choices were so-so. Water pressure in shower sometimes was ridiculous low.

For the price range of US $45 night it was a good stay. Location next to Thapae Gate area which has a lot of restaurants around and currency exchange downstairs in the building. There is a convenient 24hr 7-11 a minute walk away. I had included breakfast which was good but same thing every day. The room refrigerator was NOT prestocked with stuff I don't want to buy, Just go outside to buy drinks close by. I had laundry done and turned it in in the morning and got it back mid afternoon. The only thing was my white socks became discolored upon return. On staying at this location just be aware that on Sundays, the street next to the hotel is closed for a market setup. So traffic is tight and transportation will be difficult if you have to go to/from airport in a timely matter. For those who need to know, it's a guest friendly hotel with some bars within walking distance. This hotel will be on my the list to come back to stay. The free WiFi is a bit slow and sometimes unresponsive but not too bad. There is NO pool or fitness facilities and I hope that in the future something can be developed.

Hotel was OK. It has been there for a good few years and is well trodden. Rooms were spacious and clean and basic. No bell and whistles here! The staff were not the most helpful. We asked them to sort a Taxi for the airport on our last day and we were told that it was too early for a taxi! They didn't even try and sort an alternative. Fortunately we were visiting friends and they ended up taking us to the airport.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. But it is a bit far from Night Bazaar (about 20-30 minutes walk from the hotel depending on the speed of walk).
