Excellent hotel with a staff friendly and capable. English spoken. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean and a very comfortable bed. Roomy and very good bathroom with an excellent shower. Will use it again when in area.

Good stopover
A good no frills stay. The room was small but adequate. Didn't like cardboard cups for tea. Good free wifi. All very clean but wouldn't want to stay more than two nights. Halloween decorations were a bit over the top - greeted in reception by a blood stained corpse lying in a bed and a grotesque partially decomposed dog!

I would stay again.
Everything was great, even with a language barrier. The only thing I would like is a bathtub in the room. The bathroom is obviously too small for a tub but it would be nice.

Lovely Stay
Lovely hotel and it was very easy to find. Check n was fast and efficient and the room was lovely and large with a great view. We had dinner on site which was ok but there was nobody there that spoke sufficient English so it was a bit hit and miss. Breakfast was lovely

Overnight stop before Ferry home
Hotel was very easy to find and easy access to car ferry the following morning. Welcoming at reception and a clean, comfortable room - what more do you require from an overnight stay? The hotel offered an evening meal at a reasonable price although there was a McDonalds within walking distance. Breakfast was a good self service. Would definitely visit again.

Room OK breakfast slow!
Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was of a good standard but the supply of food was erratic to say the least. One customer asked for another bread that had been present and was told none was available. Minutes later another worker brought out the bread that was requested. Cutlery and crockery were also slow to be replenished. A rather disappointing end to a relatively pleasant overnight stop.

We stay here the night before the ferry crossing back to Poole. It is quiet and easy to locate. There are a couple of restaurant within walking distance in daylight. Staff are friendly.

Nice hotel situated at the outskirts of town
Originally disappointed about where the hotel was situated (6 - 7 km. from downtown) to discover later that due to the lack of touristy objectives in the city of Cherbourg that was a plus. The easy access to the main highway on the way to the major attractions of Normandy made it an ideal place to stay. The breakfast offered: First Class! Unrelated to the hotel: do not waste your time going to the umbrella factory. Nothing to to with the film. Just a typical tourist trap. Umbrellas starting at €125.00 + the little protector bag €40.00. For this money you can buy a computer.

Convenient and clean hotel
We stayed for 3 nights to explore the local area. It was easy to get to from the ferry and for access out of Cherbourg. It is right next door to Macdonalds, a short drive from some family friendly restaurants and just across a road from a shopping centre with supermarket and patisserie. Breakfast was a reasonable price and the food was good. The family room was spacious.

Usual good Ibis standard. However if you want to walk to eateries then a hotel closer to the centre of Cherbourg would be better.

Salut Stephen!
The hotel is situated on the southern outskirts of Cherbourg close to shopping malls and outlet stores. It is a modern comfortable hotel offering good food and a good continental breakfast; Ibis offer a good standard of accommodation and this hotel did not fall short. It is not within walking distance of city centre facilities. Of particular note was the helpful friendly service we had from the barman/waiter; Stephen. He was very professional, gave good advice and spoke good English.

Arrived and checked in no problems. Was allocated a room on the second floor, so as we had a lot of luggage (3 month old girl!) decided to use one of the provided luggage trolleys. However as soon as the lift doors opened on the second floor we were faced with steps! To make matters worse our room was still 20 meters away down a further two corridors. Once in the room, we found out that the bathroom light flickered and the sink leaked. After all we had been through to get to the room, we were reluctant to move. Noting that this was an Ibis and not the budget version, I would have expected better, so will stay clear next time.

A pleasant and practical overnight stay.
Although not situated in the centre of town the hotel makes up for that with easy parking and very pleasant staff. The rooms were quiet and clean and had tea and coffee making facilities in them (a touch that most travellers really appreciate I think) although strangely no milk included. The restaurant is adequate if one is too tired to go out. I would definitely enjoy staying there again.

Good hotel close to Cherbourg, Auchan Supermarket
A nice hotel just outside of Cherbourg at La Glacerie on the opposite side of a dual carraigeway to Auchan for all your shopping before going to the ferry. The hotel is probably more suitable for business people but it is very good for Brits using the ferry port. It is clean & comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly & helpful. It has a restaurant which is reasonable with a good menu & the continental breakfast is a serve yourself buffet.
