There aren’t many options in this area. Dawson was about the only place to stay and from the reviews it didn’t look too bad. The place is obviously very old but some of that could certainly be updated and improved. For instance… mismatched towels, random decor, bulky lamps, a heat lamp for a light bulb, etc. it’s just outdated to say the least. That said, the worst part was the cleanliness. Everything was surface level cleaned. But when you took a look at lamp shades, corners, beside furniture or the blinds you could clearly see the space was not actually clean. Dust, hair, stains, are a few points. Things I wouldn’t complain about had the place cost under $60-80 but at $180/night in the off season… this place leaves much to be desired. It’s simply overpriced for what you get and the cleanliness level you see. I will note, Zach at the front desk was quite nice and welcoming.

Stayed there 1 night on a road trip. Zack at the front desk was extremely hospitable. There was an issue with the room i booked, so he offered up the cowboy room and cheaper price. It was the PERFECT room for the evening. Cozy and clean. Loved having the wrap around porch to sit and enjoy crisp night air. This place has lots of character and a welcome stay on a long journey.

The cable didn't work. We talked to the manager and he came down and looked at it. He turned it off and turned it back on said that it was working now, but we still couldn't get any channels. The room was dirty and the shower was so bad I wouldn't use it

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us, I do remember helping you though and the satellite issue ended up being that of a billing problem and was completely out of my hands I do remember saying that we had tons of DVDs in the lobby and apologize and did everything I could to accommodate. I am confused however if your shower was so bad and I do remember helping you a couple different times why didn't you ever mention it to me when we spoke? The other confusing part is that all of our showers are cleaned 100% I assure you

It would have been nice if the window coverings shut out more light. The room was comfortable and convenient to Crater Lake. Everything worked.

Property Manager, Zac, couldn't have been more accomodating or helpful to us, for which we were very grateful. He helped us out of a predicament related to an EV car rental we had out of Portland. Thank you, Zac! Unfortunately, property is rather run down and sits on a major road through the town. Still, glad we had the room at Dawson, just 40 miles and an easy ride to Crater Lake

Great place to stay near Crater Lake
Place was great. Very homey. We stayed in the Porter loft for one night. Big room with enough beds for the 4 of us. Air conditioning worked. Loved watching movies from downstairs and then watched movies on the dish. Played card games at the kitchen table and had dinner from the taco truck across the street. Nice and quiet. Left early to get to crater lake, so we were thankful for the hot coffee. Beautiful wrap around porch upstairs. My son forgot his huge water bottle in the frig, but Zac saved it for us.

Good old fashioned rustic lodge
It’s a good old fashioned rustic lodge. Is it plush? No. Is it comfortable? Yes. Maybe not ideal for seniors because of the stairs, but it’s a fine place to stay.

Rustic Chemult.
This place is 100 years old and on a main highway. It’s rustic although clean. Shower was dated though. No deadbolt locks on the doors which was disconcerting. Zach says there is no crime in Chemult. No hot coffee was available in the morning. Be prepared that this is like staying in an old cabin on the woods. It did make arriving in Crater Lake easy the next morning.

Some of the reviews had me a bit worried, but this was a great place to stay! The building is old, but it's clearly being lovingly maintained and repaired while retaining the history of the building. The rooms were spotless and there was fresh coffee every day in the lobby. Chemult is a small-town, but the dining options within walking distance from the lodge were all fantastic, and the lodge itself was a great slice of history. The internet was a bit spotty, but I think that's the be expected in a small area surrounded by nature. All in all we loved it and wouldn't hesitate to come back

The history surrounding the building was unique. We stayed in the loft area. It worked for our family of 5 for the night. Checkin was easy and they were friendly. No breakfast options but there was hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Unique rustic inn close to N.P.
Very friendly owner there to check you in and answer your questions. Felt more like a B&B with unique Decour for each room from the past, appointed with personal touches to this clean rustic road house’s charm. Big wrap around porch to enjoy as traffic goes by, with big convenient store across the street to stock up on any supplies, and parking just outside your door.

Spent one night there. It's located right on the highway 97. Its very noisy. Very limited options to eat. The only "grocery" store near by had very-very limited stock. Hardly found something to buy for "dinner" and breakfast. It was a mistake to pick that hotel, luckily it was only one night.

Pictures on the internet were better than the actual place. Old building that needed lots of help. Right on the highway so it was very noisy. It was the best motel in town. We kept food in the car as we were concerned about mice.

The "lodge" was rundown, the room smelled really musty. The plugs next to the bed didn't work, only one bedside light. Bathroom was dirty and smelled like pee. No shades on one of the windows. TV was really small 18" maybe.

Our lodge was built in 1929, and isn't in fact a franchise hotel like you might be used to.We never advertised having large entertainment home theater systems in every room. And as for the pee smell, i'm sorry but that's hard to believe. Considering I myself often clean the rooms DAILY, would never rent a room smelling badly!

Really old lodge and AC was broken. We went in summer and it was pretty hot. The inside of the lodge was also really old and underwhelming. I would recommend to avoid this place completely.

Friendly service. The whole place shakes when the train goes by. Thought it was an earthquake at first, but after the 5th time being woken up during the night it got quite irritating. Bathroom smelt musty. Whole place was in need of maintenance and repair. Not worth the cost.

This cozy lodge is so welcoming. Each themed room is nicely furnished. We stayed in the Rose Room and enjoyed having coffee on the balcony in the morning and chilling with drinks in the evening. The guy who manages it was very helpful and friendly. The traffic noise is unavoidable but you don't really hear it once you're in your room. I highly recommend this cute little lodge to everyone.
