It is a traditional hotel with so much warmth and character. The host lady was really nice to me. The location is very central too. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay. The hotel is right on the main street so easily walkable to shops, restaurants and attractions. The bus stop is right behind and the private car park was good for us. You can take a good hike from the hotel to the glacier viewpoint and also enjoy some good cycle rides. Although the hotel is a little dated, everything is good and comfortable. The reception team are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fine. Overall, a good place and good value.
This is a special property not to be missed. Family owned and run over generations. They truly make you feel like you’re at home. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel with a lovely breakfast room! 2 minutes walk to the main street where all boutiques are. Free parking. Very nice staff. A must stay in Chamonix!
A beautiful hotel full of character, with excellent staff who embody the culture and character of Chamonix. Situated in a great location, a great place to stay, highly recommended.
Spacious room and brilliant location in central Chamonix. Friendly staff, but all spoke English. bathroom a bit dated and no shower was a bit of a disappointment.
Stayed here several times. Always good, clean service. Staff very helpful, friendly. A typical, french, traditional hotel, With original features. All you can eat French breakfast buffet. Views of Mont Blanc from balcony.

Stayed here for one night only, the lady on reception was very helpful, showing me where to get the bus to Les Houches and giving me a card allowing me free bus travel. The room was a little dated but clean and comfortable
Old-style hotel. Welcoming and friendly. Simple and nice.

An Agatha Christi / Sherlock Holmes era hotel and that’s the main charm. It’s an old property showing age, but the friendly owners (most likely) or staff more than makes for it. The hosts patiently and most helpfully went through Facilities at the hotel and in Chamonix. They know the town like old residents and were happy to share their knowledge. I love hotels with a ambience and personality and this has one …. the hotel is gracefully aging. Decent breakfast. Wala

Bottom-line: Do not stay here. There are too many other better choices all around this area. No a/c, rooms are hot with windows closed and there’s so much noise from the street with the windows open that you cannot sleep until past 3am. Building is very old and run down and in bad need of repair.
Easy to check in room great and central to everything

The hotel is central in Chamonix so it’s easy to access the shops, restaurants and town in general. It has clearly been there a long time so feels very much part of the establishment.
Great location, amazing staff. Would have preferred to have a kettle in the room for coffee/tea. Room is also really cold; they could have increased the temperature for the central heating considering it was winter time!
Pros: in downtown, extremely close to shops bars restaurants ant the cable car.
Cons: very outdated, very old building.

Somehow Richemond is one of those places in Chamonix I'll end up again and again. It's a family run business with old times Chamonix flavor in it. They're very helpful, needed a 5am breakfast, they arranged, a good example of kind of requests they accommodated for me. The building itself it's old and the time is somewhat visible throughout the venue, but personally I consider it part of the charm. As a bonus, parking is convenient and location in the center of Chamonix truly superb.
Adorable, older hotel in the middle of everything.
Some rooms have beautiful views of the Alps.
Within walking distance of the cable car to Aiguille du Midi, great restaurants and shopping.
Super nice staff. Hotel is older but the rooms and bathrooms look like they have been recently updated.
A+, highly recommend. No AC but I don't think it's ever needed in Chamonix.
Liked large room, great bed, views of mountains, location convenient for walking, free parking, rooftop patio.
Would have been perfect with a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. No A/C, but room cooled nicely at night despite heat wave.

This is a tired, old, hotel that was worth the price as the service was great, location optimal and it was fun to stay somewhere unlike a Holiday Inn. The hotel reaks of character and the guests all seem to have the same spirit of "let's go for it". Everyone seemed to ignore the minor inconveniences (kind of noisy hallways as walking in ski boots seemed to be the order of the day, and children running up and down the hallways) for the wonderful front desk madame who knows everything about Chamonix and was so helpful. I will return
