The resort is located next to a quiet bay in northern part of the island and such a wonderful location to rest. Staff went over and beyond to assist and always friendly. "This is a spectacular hotel and somewhere to truly unwind. If you have transport or are happy paying around 400bht for a grab taxi each way then the remote location isn't a problem. On site spa and restaurant are very expensive for the quality, which isn't bad, however if you travel to any spa or restaurant the quality of the service and food is always incredible and costs significantly less. We had a pool villa for two weeks and it was unbelievably beautiful, the staff are generally so helpful and polite and the sanctuary pool is by far the nicest pool I've ever been in, so peaceful. I would 100% return here, we rented a scooter and travelled all over the island but enjoyed returning to a peaceful piece of paradise. Thank you Melati"

"I stayed in the main building 3rd floor with no elevator - which was unexpected. The bed comfort was decent, the cleaning staff was amazing. The little villas off the main building is probably a better choice. The pool was right off the gulf and easy to walk too. You’re smack in the middle of everything which is great but also means the dance clubs will go all night. Noise machine helps. No need for grab unless you’re doing adventures. Good parking area. Walked to shops, malls, night markets, and bars."

"I have stayed at the Chaweng Regent periodically for 15–20 years. It has an excellent location, a lovely beach and pleasant pools, within easy walking distance of central Chaweng but away from the busiest area. However, service can feel geared towards high-volume package tourism, which is frustrating when paying the full room rate. On this visit, my room was not ready at the advertised check-in time. After I complained, I was given a very comfortable replacement that appeared to have been prepared for honeymoon guests. Having just unpacked, I was then asked to move to my original room. I inspected it but declined: it was in a poor location beside the children’s pool and noticeably inferior. A few days later, the hotel generously upgraded me to an excellent beachfront bungalow, which compensated for the inconvenience. Nevertheless, this was my second stay this year, and rooms within the same category have varied considerably in location, condition and quality. Despite paying the full rate, I was concerned that my original allocation appeared to be one of the least desirable rooms. The facilities and location remain excellent, and this quieter visit was more relaxing than my stay in March. However, the inconsistency between rooms would make me nervous about booking again."
