"Mixed feelings about this stay. The property and room are beautiful, but the experience felt disappointing for the price.
We didn’t know the restaurant is closed on Mondays, which was difficult because the property is quite remote and we had delayed picking up our rental car, assuming we could dine there. The owner messaged beforehand asking if we’d like to eat dinner there, but when I asked to reserve a table I was told the restaurant would actually be closed that day and will only serve drinks for the night. He did offer to help arrange food or give us a ride, which I appreciated, but we ended up walking to the restaurant ourselves.
When we returned around 8 pm the property was completely dark and the restaurant was closed and we ran out of drinking water at this point. For such a beautiful property, it would be nice if the outdoor area stayed accessible with lights or seating for guests in the evening.
The room also lacked some basic amenities (no mini fridge, no drinking water, and all lights on one switch which made the room very bright at night). The curtains also didn’t fully cover the window, which affected privacy.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent and the chef explaining the dishes was a lovely touch.
But at checkout the staff inspected towels and blankets in front of us for stains, which felt unusual and uncomfortable. Overall, a lovely property but the guest experience could be improved."
