"‘Cozy’ really describes the room we stayed in! Although tiny, the accomodatuons were very clean, the sheets were crispn& white, the heater was perfect (it was 18 F that night!) and the bathroom was spacious. Highly recommend! Austin is a very small town, but we ate a delicious chicken wings and fries dinner at a charming historic bar across the street (the only place serving food and drinks that night). The bar’s owner was a charming character and made our night a memorable one."

"The room was spotless, big, and the shower was amazing. Great water pressure. And the coffee machine they had, where it grinds the coffee fresh with every cup. All hotels ought to go to that coffee system. Great pillows and comfortable bed. Ill stay again "

"I had a really good stay at the Bristlecone Motel. It’s a motel so there aren’t many amenities, but that’s exactly what I expected. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets smelled fresh. The bathroom and shower were spotless. I was in the middle of moving and asked if I could have a room where I could park my car right outside, and they were happy to accommodate that, which I really appreciated. "If you’re traveling with a dog, you have to stop at the Prospector in Ely. It’s the dog friendliest place. We’ve ever stayed. The staff were wonderful. The places are very clean recommended highly"

"We really enjoyed our overnight stop at the end of Feb 2026. We stayed in the Waynescott Suite and it was such a warm room with a lot of personality! We definitely recommend this hotel if stopping overnight or staying a few days. We slept so soundly in great beds. Plus the staff was so friendly and helpful. A true of the beaten path gem. "
