Generally fine for the price range but there were two items that were non-negotionables for me. Towels were very old to the point where they looked gray instead of white. Idk how sanitary they were it was hard to tell. Also hotel staff did not replace them every day. Additionally there was an extremely foul smell like sulfur coming from the elevator and lobby that could have been due to maintenance. Definitely a budget hotel for those who withstand those items but I’d personally look for other properties.

The hotel staff were very friendly and the morning buffet was really good. Bed was lovely. I slept like a baby. The only issue that i had was with the bathroom sink. Very little water pressure...i thought it might stop altogether. Which is weird, because the pressure in the shower was great.

The hotel restaurant serves the best breakfast buffet in all of Cebu City. I can't say enough good things about it. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the showers are have luke-warm water at best. Even after a maintenane guy supposedly worked on it, the showers were still cold. This happened during two different stays, 2 months apart, and when I asked other guests, they reported cold showers as well. The staff do not seem to understand that westerners expect actual hot water, not just tepid water. I hope the management gets the message and fixes the situation.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. There are many lower end housing areas around the area with a lot of dogs running loose and you have to watch your feet for poops

This was my first time at Harold's. My initial satisfaction from the beauty of the lobby was short lived. While this hotel does offer a pleasant experience to it's guest it lacks the basic formalities and service I would expect of a hotel of this calibre. There was a draft in the room by the window which was irritating at times. I found the cleaning service to be severely lacking. Our first two days our room was not serviced even though we indicated we would like it done. On the occasion they showed up this was around 5pm even though we had been out all day. Furthermore I have stayed in hotels in Europe and Asia and have never had my room inspected before they let me check out. (What clientele are you expecting). However, that been said the staff were very friendly and polite and I can not fault them furthermore they are immaculately turned out! Would I stay here again, possibly not. Overall experience 6/10.
