It was heaven on earth. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was amazing as it was clean, restful and quiet. The food at the restaurant was delicious and economical. We had everything taken care of by the staff as far as getting to and from the airport. Highly recommended from this traveler.

I liked the design and aesthetics of the property. I loved how the staff was so friendly and helpful. They made sure I had everything I needed. They were proactive and reached out to me to let me know the best way to get to the resort. The food at the restaurant was amazingly delicious. I would highly recommend El Bin if you are traveling to Belize.

We absolutely loved staying here. The staff is friendly and will accommodate absolutely anything you ask for. They have golf carts to take you around wherever you want. The cabanas are very clean and have an air conditioner which we really appreciated. We ate almost every meal at the restaurant, best drinks and food in town! Can’t recommend enough

The property was nice but just outside the entrance was trash and some sketchy people living there. I wouldn’t advise Walking back from the split at night. Call the resort and they will pick you up. Service was great especially Tyra who was so helpful and sweet. Restaurant and bar manager, Melvin made the best drinks! Food was great at the restaurant.

We had a good time staying at El Ben. The food and drinks at the restaurant were excellent. The property is beautiful, peaceful and well kept. The rooms were well maintained with comfortable beds and good AC. However there are a few things I wish I would have known before staying here: To get from El Ben to the South Island (where literally EVERYTHING is) it is a process. They do offer options like their own ferry to the water taxi or golf cart to the split however there are specific times, locations, advance notice requirements, etc., and we found the reliability to be somewhat inconsistent. If you have a lot of activities or want to be somewhere walkable, better to stay on the South Island. We also found inconsistencies in the service. They responded to WhatsApp texts quickly most of the time which was nice especially with coordinating transportation. But upon checkin they didn’t really inform us of how things worked or what they offered etc, we just had to figure things out for ourself. Some of the restaurant staff were very friendly while others were pretty blunt. We also had to request a cleaner to come to get dishes from room service but they never came (had dishes in the room for 1.5 days). Overall, El Ben provided a nice place for us to stay on Caye Caulker but we did encounter quite a few minor inconveniences.

Amazing place! The location is beautiful, well maintained with excellent staff. We loved the food and the access to secluded beaches in north island of Caye Caulker. Staying here does need some planning with their boat schedule to get you to and from the South Island which you will need to travel to for various tours, ferry or airport but the boat trip is 5-6 minutes.

I cannot say enough about what a fantastic experience I had at El Ben. The photos in the website do not do it justice. Beautiful Cabana, very clean plus great bed, fluffy towels, bathrobes, coffee maker. The grounds were beautiful. Great restaurant. All tastefully done, suiting the vibe of the island. Quiet and peaceful. But the staff is what put it over the top for me. Kind, accommodating, attentive..provided rides to the split and back, arranged a snorkeling trip, sunset cruise, etc. Obviously I highly recommend sraying there and will return! Thanks to everyone at El Ben!

We were supposed to stayed 5 nights. This part of the island is very buggy and full of mosquito. I booked ocean from cabana, disappointed to find out there’s no beach on the property. You have to rent the bike. Which is rediculous. The boat is inconvenient because you have to text them half an hour before and sometime you must wait longer.the option is to take a golf cart that is provided to the little ferry, you get to the ferry to the south side where most of restaurants are. Only very few restaurants in these north side of the island. We are at the hotel Restaurant and had pasta with shrimp and my son had chicken. They were so aweful ( beside my pasta dish only had about 8 string of pasta, they must had not have any pasta or something) that we couldn’t eat it. We went to the south and had dinner after. You have to asked if you want your room clean, which is crazy because who doesn’t. So the second day I asked for my room to be cleaned before we went out for all day excursion on the South Island, we came back so tired and our room was still dirty. To make matter worst, the next day our AC didn’t work. They were able to give us temporary room, had to woke my son and moved at 1030 pm or so. We decided to leave the next day, this whole thing is not great on vacation. The mosquito was aweful, we also heard that few years back there’s an incident with crocodile on this side of this island. Our tour guide told us. I was able to get temporary room at the south side

However, we offer free transportation to the 2 closes beaches near El Ben. Koko King and Wild Beach.At check in, we inform our guests about the bikes rentals, is the guest who decided. You took bikes and there was no charge to you actually.Our complimentary boat service is very convenient because it is scheduled according with the water taxi arrivals to the island so we can pick up our guests for check in and when checking out. If the boat schedule does not work, we have complimentary drop offs and pick ups to/from the Split to Split area by golf cart.We are sorry to know you did not like our fresh home-made pasta because we use fresh ingredients everyday. We will instruct the culinary team to double check our recipes to keep offering the best quality.Mr. Purmana, we instructed you at check in that the cleaning service is not offered if the guests do not want it or request it. We try always to keep the most privacy possible. Unfortunately the day you came back from your tour we were in the process to finish your room due to the high demand of cleaning requests. We offered you to keep doing the cleaning service but you refused.The AC was working perfectly, when you report it, your remote was not programmed properly by you. It took less that 5 minutes to program the remote. We offered you a room immediately and you refused, when you accepted it was late but we had the room ready for you to make you sleep good since your complain.We do not have a mosquito problem into our property because we spray everyday and the crocodile incident did not happened at El Ben or any other resort on the Island.We are taking this opportunity to reinforced our standards and procedures to make sure we can do it better in the future. Beautiful room that faced ocean. Grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Boat service and golf cart service was good. Bikes were not well maintained but we managed. Suggest better storage! The property was an oasis in a rural area, out of the town but with easy access. The palapa style cottage rooms were quaint and well appointed. Dining was excellent. The staff were all friendly, attentive and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here when in Caye Caulkner.

Absolutely an amazing place, every aspect of this place is top notch, the place is spotless and the staff are all wonderful people, the most friendly people I have ever encountered, this place is a gem for sure, peaceful, friendly, they will help you with any request you have, I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore Belize, Herold is a great guy who looks after his customers, I have never been treated this well anywhere I’ve been, the entire wait staff and the people behind the scenes are incredible, the food is absolutely wonderful, all I can really say is that we’ll definitely be back and I have told all of my friends that love to travel all about this wonderful place, Belize is a gem of a place, beautiful country, beautiful friendly people, I can’t say enough good about all of it, highly recommend it to everyone

Property was very clean and in order. Staff was very attentive to the resort area. Kudos to the front desk staff (Harold snd Tyra). Harold was excellent in coordinating our transport around the island and making sure we were safe at all times. My only complaint is the golf cart and its limited seating ... we were a party of 7, and that called for 2 trips (pick up and drop off). Allen our speed driver was on time and professional. Nick (bartender/server) was very friendly always asking and ensuring we were ok. To sum it up..... it was a rime well spent!!

I had a great stay at El Ben Cabañas! There was a little bit of a hiccup while checking in, however once I surpassed that everything went well! The manager, Harold was very attentive towards my group for our entire stay! He made sure we were good! Nick, was very attentive to our group as well! His service was excellent! Also, Tara was great and very professional as well! The only means of transport on Caye Calker is via Go-Carts or boat. With that being said the only thing I didn’t like abt that was that the resort at times had only one (1) available Cart to transport back and forth to the “Split”. There were seven (7) of us total in my group so that meant two (2) seperate trips each time we needed to go back and forth! The “split” is where we have to be dropped off to connect to another private mini boat to take us to the other side (South Side) of Caye Caulker. (It’s operated by the owner, Clayto annd he charges a small fee). Also, as far as the boat goes, a bigger boat or even multiple boats would service the resort much better. The resort only has one (1) speed boat (mostly operated by Allen who was also very attentive and professional) which transports back and forth from the resort to the main port of Caye Caulker! At the main port you wait there for the Express boat which can take you Belize City or San Pedro and back! Overall, I give my entire experience an 8!

The property itself is awesome - very nice rooms. Its a little inconvenient with their shuttle, especially get back to the resort, found it easier to just take the Split shuttle and walk.

El Ben is close to the split on the North side, it's relatively new and the accommodations are great. There's an on-site restaurant and bar and the staff are totally there for your every need. They offer to take you to and pick you up at the ferry pier on the South side, there's a published schedule. They will also take you by golf cart to the split or the local restaurants on the North side. Would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others. Check-in and out was seamless, Harold even had a welcome cocktail for us!

Being on the north portion of "the split" meant the location was very quiet and peaceful, but just a short ride away from the livelier south end. The south part of Caye Caulker has amazing food, and music, and excusions. The cabanas themselves are beautiful and airy and the views are incredible. This isn't a beach resort, but beaches are nearby.

El Ben is north of the Split, providing a sanctuary for us as we weren't interested in the hubub. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay, from picking us up from the airport to booking events, to being friendly and helpful in every way. One can't swim directly from the location due to the mangroves, but it's easy to get to/from town/the Split swimming via their water taxi or a short walk. The rooms were beautiful, food good, and service outstanding.

Wonderful experience!
We stayed at El Ben Cabañas for 4 nights and it was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful in securing tours and local travel arrangements, the food/ service was great at the site restaurant, and the location is quiet and safe. It is a short ride or walk (5-10min) +ferry (2min) to the south side (main area of Caye Caulker). The rooms and landscaping are beautiful. If you are looking for a relaxing trip and are fine with a little walking to the beach, I highly recommend El Ben.

The place is beautiful, and it’s the only place on the island. Only four people that like to get bored a lot of mosquitoes. Staff -very nice. The food is very good. Pool so so

Great property overall, needing to do some cleaning around the mangroves lots of trash. The property is located across the Split, not ideal if you are thinking of going to town every day for diving trips or restaurants. Nothing nearby, lots of mosquitos. The restaurant food was great, very good chef. Overall service was excellent. Great property for a more secluded stay.

I hate to categorize the entire staff in one rating. ..the waiters, bar tenders, cleaning staff, captain were all AMAZING. My issue was more with management.. During our visit i was provided a whatzzap number that i used several times to try to get a response. Several times the response was delayed and in one ocassion I was left stranded at the split under the pouring rain, i had to walk under the thunderstorm (lighting) with all the souvenirs i purchased for my family (got wet) for about 30 minutes, barefoot because my shoes were not appropriate to walk through mud and potholes of water,. I also asked the first day for help with my return home and had to go to the office in person to see if i had to fend for myself ..which it was the captain who assited me by giving me times and reassurimg me that he will wait for me at 630 (i think they call him papi) and had the conceirge from the other hotel help me with a taxi because i was not sure that i was getting assistance and after the split situation i decided to fend gor myself. I also requested to have my room cleaned every day since the first day i got there, however had to ask daily anyways They send some super nice to dry off my clothes abd she made me laugh and forget the situation ..also got my meal for free that night but i was extremely upset due to the split situation. Again the staff is nice

Kindly note that we will inform our staff members about your nice words and congratulate them for the great job they do to make our guests happy.First of all, we apologize for any inconvenience caused to you during your recent stay in our property and we are very sorry to know that you had to experience the rain in Belize in the winter time, unfortunately, the weather is something that we have no control. We sent our staff members to assist you on a golf cart under the rain but they only received a negative answer from your side. Yes, we do provide emails, phone numbers and WhatsApp numbers to all our guests to stay in contact with us and try to assist them with everything possible. We do provide complimentary transfers from the island to our resort by boat and golf cart to/from the split but it is only under prior request. The management offered to dry your cloths at no cost because we understand it is difficult and uncomfortable to travel with wet cloths. Also a nice meal was offered by the management totally complimentary. We would like to express our sincere apologies again and make clear that we have no control over any water taxi reservations or flights reservations. That is the reason why we provide complimentary boat transfer schedule or golf cart assistance to the split under request with different times to help our guests to connect with any transportation service booked by the guest itself.
