Great budget stay in Caye Caulker

Booked the Plaza Hotel as a budget option for our family trip (2 adults, 1 child). The room & common areas were clean and welcoming. AC worked great. Loved having thr balcony! No TV in rooms, but WiFi was good! Staff were all so friendly & helpful. Also great having coffee available in the mornings! The location is away from the main strip so a bit quieter, but still walkable to lots of great restaurants, shops & the water!

A good location. Unfortunately, no TV in the rooms. One coffee pot available in lobby each morning, but no coffee once this single pot was empty. Warm/hot water intermittent in shower, cold 9 times out of 10. A shame.

I’ve been traveling to Caye Caulker for 15 years and have stayed at the Plaza many times. I have to assume there is a new owner b/c you’ve gone way down hill. Checking out and moving locations and will not stay a second night. The beds used to be luxurious with nice new linens. No longer. The towels are old and frayed. The toilet doesn’t work because you don’t maintain your property. You are nowhere near capacity and our room is next to the bar w/LOUD music from noon to 1:30AM. Never again bye

the over all hotel is in vert poor condition. reletivly to the other hotels you have so many better ways to spend your money. the cooling system smells, there is no quiet and therewas some one else's stuff in our room when we came in it. if it was possible to just walk away we would have done it. just bad. so so so bad.

Be aware of this hotel. Stealing!

Stealing! Do not stay in this hotel! During checking in we were informed to keep all important document, money and expensive belonging in the room safe, than we were asked to sign the waiver that hotel is not responsible for missing or stealing in the room, after that we were informed that we MUST leave room key each time when we leaving the room (JOKE). We checked in, we left everything in the room (important belingings in the safe) and we went out for the dinner. On the way back to the hotel we noticed that the guy from reception is standing in front of the hotel, when he saw us approaching he disappeared, we noticed that something is not right. We ran in to the lobby he wasn't there, I ran on the second floor to my room and I met another person near walking by my door, I asked where is the guy from reception he said he's fixing some problem in 3rd floor (very weird), 5 second ago he was in fron of the hotel. We came in to our room and the safe WAS OPENED!!! Money was missing. We went to the reception report and the guy who was (fixing on yhe 3rd floor) was seating at his desc! We told him what's going on, and we requested to see surveillance video, he said that today they have problems with cameras and nothing was recorded. We told him we are going to call police but he said that nothing we can do because we sign waiver that hotel is not responsible for missing things in your room. Unbelievable!

Central location

The staff here are very friendly and helpful! We enjoyed our stay and the central location of the hotel. The entire island experienced a power outage and the staff did everything they could to help and work through it. Basic place, but great AC and spacious rooms.

Great hotel near the port. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds with balcony. The linens were clean and the room was clean too. We didn't get any hot water but it was ok as we didn't need it due to the heat. The staff was nice and helpful. We got there early at 9:30am and they kept our luggage so that we could go for our snorkel tour. When we came back in the afternoon they already took our luggage to our room. It was very nice of them. Check-in and check-out were quick. Only issue I noticed was the lack of electric outlets to charge phones. Overall, a good experience.
