"A beautifully maintained place with a warm, homely feel about a 28 minute drive from Fes.The views are lovely, and there’s a great pool though we didn’t get to enjoy it as much due to the cooler weather during our visit.
I can’t speak highly enough of the staff. Everyone was incredibly polite and welcoming. We were especially well looked after by the owner Hakeem along with Nezha, Ali, and our driver Yassine, who all made our stay truly special.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone...

"Riad Fes Maya is a stunningly beautiful building. The room we had was ornate and spacious, but dark. Natural light filtered in from the courtyard at the expense of privacy, a concept implicitly understood by the other guests. We enjoyed dinner on the rooftop deck twice during our stay and found breakfasts enjoyable as long as we could stay out of the hot late May sun and out of the glass enclosed room where most guests sat. Staying here in late spring was a constant challenge to stay cool.
The woman running the Riad, Sama, is pleasant but not always helpful, despite her well-meaning efforts. The Medina tour she arranged was free but consisted in substantial part of visits to shops where pressure to buy goods was palpable. She told us the Medina was gated and closed at 7 pm each night preventing anyone from entering or leaving, which was not true, as we has dinner inside it our second night, escorted to and from another riad by a bellboy. Our departure to another hotel in time for a rendezvous at 9 am was nearly missed, despite being reserved ~3 months in advance, due to understaffing.
All in all we enjoyed our stay as a bit of an adventure. Hearing the call to prayer on the rooftop deck from mosques all across the Medina was an experience not to be missed."
"I grew up in Fes. I know traditional. This is traditional/modern. I like the vibe. It’s not “stenciled” over a normal wall. This is true craftsmanship everywhere. The house can be quiet and one feels awkward speaking out loud. But truly amazing. The shades close and darken the room which was amazing for my jet lag when I needed dark.
The hospitality is outstanding. There is street parking. The breakfast is delicious and authentic Moroccan. The room is spacious. It’s not the best sunlight coming in but plenty of light makes up for it. Closet space is aplenty. I dropped something requiring me to fish it out from a corner behind the credenza. I was shocked: it was spotless. Not a lick of dust.
I came in a sad situation where I attended a funeral. I arrived at 4 am . They accommodated amazingly. Communication with the host was truly extraordinary.
I intend to come back - no Question.
Regarding proximity to places, honestly, this is off the popular circuit which made it super interesting for me. It’s close to modern city center By car. Close to other venues by car. I had no complaints. But it is a personal preference.
I’m truly thankful for my stay and for the accommodation. When I had my brother visit late at night to say good bye, and then I went to see him off at the front entrance, someone came to check the door was locked. I sincerely appreciated the vigilance. Btw: I parked my car out front street parking. It was safe. The “takeout” breakfast at 4 am? Thank you."
"We only stayed one night at Hotel Sahrai, but overall we enjoyed the modern design and spacious feel of the hotel. The room had a very stylish and contemporary atmosphere, and we appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts as well.
The pasta we ordered for lunch was delicious, although the waiting time was a bit long, so we would recommend sharing if someone is in a hurry. We also ordered a Caprese dish, but what arrived seemed more like bruschetta with melted cheese and mushrooms rather than a traditional Caprese. We believe it may have simply been a miscommunication, so we politely accepted and enjoyed the dish without any issue.
The room and bathroom design, especially the glass elements, felt modern, fun, and a bit sexy. However, there were unfortunately significant clogging issues with both the wash basin and bathtub. In addition, the toilet had a noticeable sewage smell during our stay.
We also felt the grayish carpet in the room may need replacing, as it did not appear very clean and had a strong musty smell each time we returned to the room from outside.
That said, the room itself was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. With some improvements to the bathroom maintenance and carpeting, the experience could become much more enjoyable."
