What you would expect from a NH property. All the right amenities. Too bad someone talked them into buying the cheap flooring. It is peeling up now. Otherwise a great stay.

Hotel is cute for one night. Comfortable beds. Decent brunch. It's not in the city center, but Cartagena is safe enough and walkable. The hotel does appear to be next to social housing, but that didn't bother us. Free parking on hotel grounds.

Great Value for money
Located just outside of the city center, but still within a walkable distance. We like a walk. We were greeted on arrival and our room was ready. The room was very clean and well presented. Bathroom was just starting to get a little tired but perfectly usable. Good location, easy parking, near to supermarket and park and easily walkable to a choice of restaurants. We normally stay in the NH in the center which is slightly more glamorous, but this hotel was very practical and very good value for money for an overnight stay.

Short call at Cartagena
Actually the is closed temporary, so I was accommodated in hotel NH Cartagena instead. Service was execellent, location was also nice.

We were actually booked into the other NH Hotel in Cartagena but there was a maintenance issue with our room. They forwarded us on to the NH at the harbour where we were given a junior suite for the same price we

The hotel itself is very modern and nice. It is ideally situated for people that want to park up (free ) and walk into town for sightseeing and evening shopping etc. It’s about a 20 min walk to the sea front.

The check in was very efficient. Our room was disappointing. The laminate flooring in the lounge area of our junior suite had lifted very badly which was a hazard when walking to the bathroom at night time. We assume water had seeped underneath at some stage. It should be replaced as someone will get injured due to this. There was also an issue with water leaking under the shower screen on to the bathroom floor, another hazard! Our request for the iron & ironing board could not be met as it was apparently locked in another guests room for which they had no access?? We had to go out for dinner without ironing our clothes and on our return around 11pm one of the staff brought it to our room then. Surely a hotel of this size should keep in more than 1? We were not comfortable walking from the town of Cartagena to our hotel at night time, especially walking through the park which is located next to the hotel. There appeared to be quite a number of drink/drug addicts frequenting this area. We would probably choose the other NH hotel nearer to the port area on any other visits.

Comfortable hotel in a good area. Easy walk to the Old Town and a grocery store next door. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Rooms are good, in need of some everyday maintenance care - shower head, amenity holder in shower, chips on furniture, nothing major but still niggling. General cleanliness of room was ok, bit some easily avoidable oversights like a plastic bag under the bed make it seem lacking.

Nightmare on NH Hoteles Street
This is a perfectly serviceable hotel with good sized rooms on the edge of the town but only 15 minutes walk to the historical centre. The problem when we stayed was that there was also a junior sports team on our floor who were unsupervised and out of control - lots of noise in the corridors, slamming doors, high jinx , laughing, shouting etc..Having travelled all day we went to bed early (10pm) but couldn't get to sleep due to the noise. 3 times we contacted reception and twice went down to reception but nothing was done, Eventually at 2.30 am they found us another room on a different floor. On checkout, I was astonished that they wanted to charge full price as if nothing had gone wrong! I refused and asked the lady on reception to get her manager to call me after the weekend. Two hours later she called me and said she'd spoken to her manager and they would drop the charge for the room if we paid for breakfast. A very sensible solution which I accepted and in the spirit of goodwill immediately booked a room for the following weekend. Imagine my disgust when the manager rang me 2 days later and said they'd changed their mind and would be charging me after all..I lodged a formal complaint nearly a week ago but have heard nothing. It's unbelievable that a multimillion hotel group such as NH could (a) have such poor customer service and be willing to renege on an agreement, and (b) be willing to engender all this badwill over €150! Hopefully common sense will prevail.

Room was clean and fine. It's a bit of a weird area. The front desk seemed a little overworked or overwhelmed. And it was loud. We were right next to the elevator so that was probably part of the issue.

Wonderfully clean and refreshingly comfortable rooms. The breakfast was delicious and very fresh. Loved the history of the nearby Teatro Romano, the Forum, et cetera. A delightful modern place to stay.

Lovely hotel. Bar could be better as it did not have much of an atmosphere. I was worried about the location after reading some reviews but it was absolutely fine. Plenty of parking outside the hotel where the receptionist said it would be safe. Short walk to the sights and the harbour or around 6 to 7 euros in a taxi. Breakfast was fantastic. So many choices in the buffet.

Everything was reasonable quality and the place was functional. The only problem we had was the room was way too hot and the airconditioner couldn't be turned to a lower temperature. We tried openjng the windows but it was windy and this wasn't a solution for the whole night. So neither of us slept much for three nights. Too hot, so how it would be in warmer weather would be very interesting.

A good “box” hotel with little amenities! Hotel is clean but lacks any ambiance for anyone staying more than a day. The color scheme is depressing after a 24 hour stay, there is no social bar or area for guests to meet. The restaurant reminded me of a hospital cafeteria; clinical at best. Food was inconsistent... & avoid the pizza for a quick snack for it’s the frozen-microwave version! I asked the staff why the room was almost silent and unwelcoming? The response was” it’s the politics of the hotel to keep everything low key so that guests can enjoy the silence “ really... ??? A hotel needs to have a bit of ambiance even if it’s being used by flight crews staying overnight! The neighborhood is low income and the hotel sits out of place for guests.... I asked the front desk staff for a place for coffee while we waited for our room to be prepared at check in time... we were there at 10:30 a.m. ; the response was there is nothing near here & if you want coffee you must buy the full buffet breakfast??? REALLY! There is nothing in the neighborhood... this is not a good place to walk around and take your chances at 10:30 am looking for coffee.... I have stayed at other NH’s; this is by far the most disappointing! NO AMBIANCE! NO AMENITIES! The lobby had two low sitting chairs at entrance... if you sit in other areas in the back; the staff questions what you need... not welcoming! Front desk staff was professional! Perhaps it’s the new concept for NH????

Good short break hotel
Very good and friendly reception staff. The hotel is ideally located away from the bustle of the town centre but within a short car journey (5mins) of the visitor attractions, bars and restaurants. Easy parking around the hotel with a supermarket adjacent should you have forgotten anything.
