Great stay in Tua

A lovely short stay at Casa do Tua. The hotel was very comfortable, great views and the pool especially nice. Good breakfast, easy parking with 2 bar/restaurants nearby plus the station over the road.

Sadly we only stayed one night in this beautiful hotel in the tranquil town of Tua. Away from the tourist tack of Porto, we enjoyed the luxury of this great hotel. Good breakfast and a relax by the pool. Highly recommended.

Super, Relaxed Stay but No Kettle

Very comfortable stay. The place and the people are all lovely. Tua is a very small village with no shop but an interpretive centre / museum and a small handful of eating places. The only noise is from river craft and the occasional train. The hotel does excellent breakfasts but no other meals. The pool is good too, and a real sun trap. They did a bag of laundry for €10. The only negative for British guests (tea drinkers) is that no kettle is provided. There is a handy fridge though.

Good family hotel in Tua.

Very nice family hotel next to Tua station and river Douro. Very quiet. Very comfortable. Staff very helpful and spoke good English. Good restaurant next door. Hotel serves a very good breakfast.

Lovely hotel right by the Douro in the tiny village of Tua. We had a view of the river from our window. The room was relatively small, but fine for our 2 night stay. The public rooms inside the building are beautiful, and the high-ceiling breakfast room is delightful. The owners and staff are lovely people - they made us feel welcome, and were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Also used the pool - reasonable size, very clean, with sunbeds all around. It's fair to say Tua is isolated by car but the train station is almost opposite. We drove to Pinhao for a 2-hour boat cruise on the Douro to Tua (though does not dock there). Really recommend that cruise. Later, we took the train from Tua to Pocinho - again excellent. The Valeira dam is interesting if you catch one of the big river cruise boats using the lock. We recommend the Tua Mercearia tapas bar behind the station - delicious.

For us, this was a great choice. A quiet location and we had a view of the river from our room and also from the common area patios. The hotel clerk gave us excellent advice to take the scenic train from the station across the street which was a wonderful experience. He also showed us a scenic drive through the wine country with a detour to a lookout point which was breathtaking. However this is a very isolated location with one restaurant next door and one across the street. We did have a great meal at the next door restaurant. But if you are looking for lots of dining options this is not the place to stay. The room itself was a bit small and not recently updated. But it was very quiet and we had the window open all night with a nice breeze off the river. Breakfast was a full buffet with lots of options.

Foz do Tua is a beautiful place - the hotel was excellent and the staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant. The whole experience was brilliant and we would recommend the hotel and pace to anyone. Superb!!!

Very peaceful location and beautiful views of the river and vineyards. Room nice and bright, good size bathroom and nice breakfast with lots of choices. Very friendly staff. Also the swimming pool was lovely. Tua is a very small village with only 2 restaurants but you can go to town of Pinhao in 15 minutes on the train. If you want to relax and enjoy nature I definitely recommend Casa do Tua.

Would highly recommend. Check-in was easy and welcoming. Staff are very accomodating and friendly. Breakfast buffet was great. Lovely walking trail along river below hotel, train station across the street if you would like to take a scenic ride. Room was spotless and comfortable. Awesome common areas, big pool, games room with pool table, sitting area with loungers and big TV. The breakfast room was first class.

Great little spot for a quick stay

The reviews were great and at $67 for a river view room we couldn’t resist. It is out of the way but next to the Tua train station. Room simple but comfy and decent size. The pool and view are excellent. Nice bkfst in am. The restaurant next door was amazing. Wild boar stew was fabulous. Great house wine at $3 for 1/2 liter! Great place at about the halfway point for a car loop of the Duoro Valley.

Wir haben uns im Hotel Casa do Tua sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage des Hotel erlaubt es, vom Zimmer, vom Pool sowie von der Frühstücksterasse einen fantastischen Blick auf den Duoro zu haben. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr hilfsbreit und das Zimmer sowie alle Einrichtungen des Hotels waren tadellos sauber.

Vidunderlig udsigt

En perle. Dejligt stort værelse. Dejlig morgenmad incl. røræg. Mange steder man kunne sidde og læse, spille og hygge. Brugte ikke swimmingpoolen, men den så dejlig ud. 2 stole på værelset, som er en fordel. Gik nogle Vandreture fra hotellet. Hvis man ikke er til at ligge og slappe af ved poolen, så tror jeg at 2 overnatninger er nok. Kan absolut anbefales. Fantastisk udsigt over Douro floden, med mange både/skibe, der sejler forbi.
