Nice staff and clean rooms

Hotel staff was very nice and helpfull. As a room tip i would suggest to get room from second/third floor, since balcony in first floor is not nice because of the area that hotel is in. Rooms were clean and quiet. First floor balcony was not what i expected and did not use it at all. There is a supermarket nearby that you can visit without boat ride but rooms dont have any fridges. Hotel restaurant was not in use during my visit, thou they served basic breakfast in the morning.

Decent mid-range hotel in a rough area.

The Oasis is a decent mid-range hotel in a noisy, dirty, somewhat dangerous neighborhood. The rooms are clean with decent beds, but the surrounding area is filthy - trash everywhere, feces speckling the walkway. It is right next to an elementary school and a public boat landing, so there is lots of noise during the day, but it quiets down at night. While walking to a nearby restaurant one evening I was attacked by a dog that nearly tore the shirt off my back. I took to carrying a heavy bottle with me after that for protection. The owner, Jose, is very friendly and helpful.

Decent 2-star hotel in a run-down neighborhood

This is a modest family-run hotel in a noisy run-down neighborhood. The rooms are clean, the baths are a bit funky, but OK.

Hotel Oasis

Our visit was very pleasant. José and Mayra were very accommodating and helpful with useful information about the local tours and local customs. The hotel was always clean. The added attractions of the lovely hummingbirds were so fun to watch. Management had just hired a new chef from Panama. Fernando was excellent in his seasoning and presentation. He prepared a variety and added grilled vegetable that enhanced the choice of meat. His choice of wine was also excellent. Needless to say we were very impressed and enjoyed his meals. Our visit was great and we would return to this pleasant hotel.
