"The room was spacious for three people although we could have used more towels. Pool was smaller than the picture suggested, water was cloudy, and chlorine very high. Good variety at breakfast. Would stay again."

"We had a lovely, large room with a very comfortable bed, small table for breakfast, excellent coffee available just outside the lobby, and a nice balcony. The pool was lovely and there were lounge chairs and towels, as well as a shower to rinse off in before swimming. In addition, having the proximity to the Chincoteague National Refuge and easy driving to local restaurants and downtown were pluses. The Refuge Inn has a small-town, family feeling with all the amenities you could ask for."

Water pressure was great, pool was wonderful, hot tub was nice, roses beautiful, lots of parking, great sound proofing, plenty of pillows. Friendly staff, nice breakfast, great location!"

"Our cottage was listed as having a bay view, and we paid over $300/night for this view. The cottage was on a narrow (not super clean looking) man-made canal, with a parking lot to a hotel on the other side of the canal. The canal is wider than a ditch but very narrow. Very technically speaking, you can see the natural body of water (referred to as the bay) if you look through the landscape and other buildings between our cottage and the water, but the view was not in any reasonable way a bay...

"This was an incredible stay! The owner Noel was absolutely amazing! The property was meticulous! The breakfast had many different choice and was fully stocked. The pool was clean and very nice to swim in. There was an ice machine and guests are allowed to fill their coolers. The bathroom door had a full length mirror which was very nice too. The shower pressure was perfect as it felt like I was at a spa! I cannot say enough about this place! This property is a hidden gem that I recommend to...

"cannot believe the good reviews this place has on Expedia. It is inhabitable. I checked in via phone call, as the front office says "open" but nobody was on the premises--ever. When I walked into my room, which also happened to be an adjoining room to someone unknown, it smelled immediately of must and mold. "This property is centrally located along Maddox Blvd in beautiful Chincoteague. Easily in walking distance are shops and a tremendous ice cream and coffee shop, Mister Whippy. The rooms are clean, just a little outdated, but the staff informed us a refresh is coming. Definitely a nice place to stay for the weekend."
