"We had an awesome stay at this hotel! I was very impressed with how new and modern it was. It was very updated and clean. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. Our room was clean and we were happy with the size as we had 6 people in the suite. The pool area was well maintained and the hot tub was great! Breakfast was hot and fresh with a great variety of options. We especially liked the breakfast pizzas and the amazing fresh coffee! We spent a while in the breakfast area just enjoying before we started our day. I would definitely recommend staying at this Holiday Inn Express if you are in Moundsville, WV whether you tour the Moundsville Penitentiary or just visit in nearby Wheeling, you will NOT be disappointed with this hotel. I give it a 10+"

"The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The beds were fine. But the floors and bathroom showed a lack of attention."

"There was an eleven dollar parking fee on top of the room fee and the room smelled of urine. It was a very strong urine smell that was throughout the entire room and bathroom."

"The hotel was clean in and out, and the area is clean and safe. Came here for a tournament, which they seem to host a lot of families for these tournaments as well as traveling lineman, oil, and construction workers. Inwas surprised how clean the rooms were with the full kitchen. No complaints. Outside looked like a 3 star hotel and the rooms has great mattresses. I out a 3 for amenities, but i dont know if they have any, but to for an overnight stay, it was great."

"Room was nice. Staff was excellent. It was the first room from the reception desk making it louder than normal and the doors were very very loud when clasping shut. Every time our “neighbors” went in or out, we were awakened. Breakfast was hearty but no pastries were available."

"I found a bed bug in my bed on the last day of my trip. The hotel staff told me to contact Expedia to receive a refund. I asked to get written conformation this happened to me and all they gave me was $30 free play coins. When I call Expedia, they gave me $75 credit with them. Now Expedia claims they aren't able to contact the hotel, and the hotel claims they haven't heard from Expedia. Honestly, I hate complaining and I didn't know what to do. The housekeeper took the dead bug, and the lobby person said Expedia would handle the refund. I didn't ask for it I was offered it and now I'm being given the run around. The sad part was I loved my trip. I understand things like this happen and it's beyond the hotels control. I'm sure they're going to take care of it. However, what's not be handled properly is my treatment in this matter."
