"Gallons of character in this thirteenth century Inn. Loved the stay in a quiet corner of town where the inn is clearly well liked by locals with relaxed and kind staff."

"Nice little one night stopover visiting Bude.
Ample parking and easy to find. Straight road into Bude. A little isolated so make sure you buy supplies from Bude on the way back.
A few spiderwebs and bugs in the room when we arrived but only because the window was left open thankfully because it was such a hot day.
Paula the host was very helpful and friendly start to finish. Will stay again if we visit Bude again."

"I truly enjoyed my stay here, the ammenities were well kept and clean, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the spa facilities were great, the food was delicious and of course the views were breathtaking."
"Absolutely wonderful stay at this Hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Hotel was so comfortable and clean. Every amenity was provided in the room. I Highly recommend this hotel."
"We have visited and stayed at the Jamaica Inn a number of times over the years but unfortunately this time we were left a bit disappointed.
Not with the place or most of the staff themselves but with the entitlement of other visitors and patrons who bring their dogs into the establishment.
Nearly all the dog owners were either having their dogs sitting where people need to walk, on long leads so they can roam or not on leads at all so they can roam anywhere. One even had her dog sitting on the seat where other people will then sit.
In my opinion staff should keep these dog owners in check as it will likely lead to someone tripping up or getting tripped up by these animals which will end up with serious injury to a person. No dog should be allowed to sit in a seat at a table.
One member of staff who was serving food was also petting one dog.
The place is nice to visit but for me I’m not in a rush to come back if the place is going to be overrun by inconsiderate dogs owners and staff who are happy to tolerate it."
"Beautiful hotels with clean rooms & the bartenders and servers were all wonderful, but the Polish guy at the front was useless.
We needed a taxi, & he just gave us cards to call. We couldn’t call from our American phones, so he allowed us to use the front desk phone. Any other place would arrange that for you, not “I don’t know. Here are some cards. Good luck.” Your guests are foreign. A hotel doesn’t just abandon the guests with “Good luck”. Only garbage hotels do that. This was a very nice hotel with beautiful scenery.
The front desk doesn’t open until 8:30 am, but we had to leave at 7 am… so we ended up opening the doors ourselves, & because we cannot lock from the outside, we had to leave the doors open to get out of the lobby to our taxi to make our flight.
Because you cannot get an Uber or taxi, you have to plan ahead. This is something that needs to be shared.
In order to dial out, you have to use 011 (if you’re USA) 44 (country code for the U.K.) and then the British phone number WITHOUT the first 0 at the beginning of the area code (many just give the number without the 0. Area code is four numbers, I think). I had to figure this out from Google. How sad!
A sign with these instructions would help your future guests?
Bodwin has no public transport.
The 21 year old bartender let us use his phone, too. He was great. The servers in the dining room were fantastic. The lady bartender at night was amazing. Other than the service, it was a very nice experience."
"Superb accommodation with friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend to friends and if heading in that direction again would have no hesitation booking a stay here again"
"This is a lovely hotel which we have stayed in before. Friendly, helpful staff and conveniently situated for a short walk to the beach & Mawgan Porth, coastal walks. Buffet breakfast has lots of choice but does run out quickly, staff are on hand to top up but you may need to wait for certain items. Hot breakfast is available for a surcharge, we found the buffet breakfast more than adequate. No air conditioning in the rooms but fans were provided and these were very effective in the recent heat. Our room overlooked the car park (only option available when booked due to half term) which was noisy from early in the morning with deliveries and trolleys being pushed around. Ate in the OGO restaurant which was lovely staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable great recommendation on the local Bauhaus wine 😊 will definitely stay again for a nice relaxing break with nice food, sunset views and amenities."
