"Room was pleasant, the bed was very comfortable & with lovely soft pillows. Towels were soft with a very pleasant smell that filled the bathroom. Only small complaints was the lack of Decaffeinated coffee & tea sachets, which you now expect in most establishments. Also the small TV was stuck in the corner of the room, but this only a minor problem. The staff were pleasant & chatty & the breakfast was very nice. This is a very nice guesthouse in a nice area, with several self-catering cottages...

"The reception staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. I left my phone charger at home and they lent me one for the weekend. The room was a single and clean, although the decor was dated (the description did say it was a Victorian building). I had breakfast both mornings at The Galley Restaurant which was an all you can eat. The food was hot and fresh and had everything you would expect for a buffet restaurant. "Obviously a lot of effort has been made by the new owners to create a comfortable and upgraded environment. They are working hard and constantly on what was obviously a worn down building. Looking out from the room the gardens and view is spectacular. The room was large and comfy with great, instant hot water and lovely deep bath. Authentic home cooked curry was delicious."

"Good bed, good sized shower, good breeze through the window. The breakfast hours are too early nd too short, and you apparently have to reserve a table for dinner, but they do room service and it was quick and delicious. They desperately need WiFi extenders."

"Great location. 3 mins from a great beach and near 2 places within walking distance to eat in the evening. A great room with everything you need for a few days away. Staff at the hotel were really accomodating washed and dried our towels and tshirts as we had been on the beach. Beach wraps available to use and a parking permit for the beach so it was free to park. Breakfast was huge and could be afapted as you liked it. "Food is excellent and beds are very comfy. It's old-fashioned in that it's a conversion of an older building, so windows are single-glazed and the doors open with actual keys. But the rooms have everything you'd expect from a professionally run establishment. Staff are all friendly and professional though you sometimes have to seek them out – hardly surprising as there are only six rooms so they can't have someone permanently on duty."
