"The hotel was beautiful. The room had a big comfortable bed and 2 nice arm chairs. The host custom cooked breakfast for us and arranged for a taxi when we had to leave. There was a lovely terrace out back which will be nice when the weather is warm."

"Adequate overnight stop off the afternoon sailing from Portsmouth. You can see the hotel as soon as you exit the dock. Late check in available if the ferry is late. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Quite a basic room, no tea or coffee in the room or bottles of water. Room was small with 2 twin beds. Beds very comfortable and shower good. Breakfast was a good assortment, although there were many comments overheard from the guests if you didn't get breakfast early enough all the hot food was...

"Lovely quaint hotel. Staff attentive and helpful. As per other reviews yes there are no lifts second floor rooms are a slight hike up. Yes the rooms could do with upgrading but for what you pay for a night and an ease of access to the port no complaints from us. We had a family quadruple room, good size but really warm room, no air con small windows but lots of road noise when open"

"I have used this hotel several times as an overnight stay before an early morning ferry. It’s perfectly adequate in that context. It’s been recently refurbished since my last visit - they’ve done a nice job. The restaurant next door is very handy and serves good food at reasonable prices ."

"You can see the beach from the window of Room 21. I am American but lived in Houlgate when I was 16. This little hotel is clean, 1 minute walk from the beach, and you are right near many restaurants and shops. I would not rent a car to come here. Just take a car service from the train station in Deauville. Nonetheless, the hotel is simple, well managed, and the host is very friendly. Excellent breakfast too. "
