The Areuse gorge is a spectacular hike through a narrow gorge. And the sky provides a beautiful backdrop even even from the bottom of the gorge.

The Areuse gorge can be reached easily from Basel. The hike starts in open fields but follows the Areuse stream as it descends sharply, falling through narrow gorges. The route can be treacherous but the narrow gorges are beautiful and the falls spectacular. There is a large variety of birds and at Champ-du-Moulin, about half way along the route, trout can be seen swimming up the current.

フロントがないので鍵を受けとるのに管理人と会うことが必要。私は会う時間を電話した。 私の都合で会う時間を一時間遅らせたが彼女は文句もなく快くOKしてくれた。 スーパーマーケットやインターナショナルウォッチミュージアムが徒歩10分以内で、場所は良い。 交通量がある表通りから少し奥なので夜ホテルは静かだった。 格安で宿泊できるこのホテルは悪くないと思う。
