"The hotel looks beautiful on the outside. We checked into our room and the minute I opened the room door all I could smell was mold/mildew. The window was painted shut. I went down to the desk and asked for a room with a window that opened, they had one available. The exterior of the window was covered in black mold/mildew. But the room didn't smell horrible. "Clean, friendly staff, cozy feel, large tv, and overall a wonderful stay! Our only suggestion would be a fan in the bathroom since steam quickly builds. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the Hillside Hotel. "

There were several places to eat all just a few minutes in any direction, a Walmart and dollar tree right across the street. The free breakfast was fantastic! Everything was clean. "This motel was chosen because it is about a mile from the Luray Caverns entrance. The motel is two story, easy drive in, and easy to find. "The 2 bedroom place that we stayed at was very quiet. We felt like we were the only ones in that area. The facility was nice, there were things that needed to be fixed or updated. We were out the room most of the weekend and were only in the room to sleep. They definitely need to look at the beds. I could feel the springs in the mattress."

We told the manager about it and she said it was impossible to do a refund because we booked through a third party site. So we were put in another room. Second room, same story only worse.
