Excellent location. Spacious room. Very quiet. Nice staff. We'll set out inside apartment. Disappointed in cleanliness of apartment. A lot of hair in bathroom and on carpets/mats. Bed covering not clean.

The property inside was very nice and very tidy however there was no fans only aircon. The area around and underground carpark smelt like dump. However inside the building the smell wasn’t there. Overall great stay

This is a lovely old building right in the centre of the cbd. The rooms are very generous and the kitchen is well equipped. Unfortunately the mattress was very cheap and hard so uncomfortable. Also the TV systems were not user friendly, couldn’t work out how to get the internet working with them and no instructions, and one TV stopped working altogether after the first night. Because reception closes at 4, if you come back after work and have a problem there’s no-one to talk to about it. Also, no shower wash, just a couple of tiny bars of soap.

My wife and I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment in September 2023. The apartment was very spacious, very well equiped, very clean, very quiet, and very comfortable … and at a reasonable cost in a fantastic central location! We feel very safe at Macarthur Chambers too…and the staff are polite, efficient and helpful! Security into the building is excellent and internal security is excellent too! It is the 4th time we have stayed at Macarthur Chambers, and we’ll continue to go back there whenever we are in Brisbane. We have previously stayed in one of the spacious 2 bedroom apartments there. We highly recommend Macarthur Chambers as it is excellent in all respects!

Perfect location right near Queen St Mall. Apartment was clean and tidy and had everything you could need right in the heart of the city making walking to everything very easy. Just call ahead for parking directions as the carpark entrance is located in a different street to the apartments.

As I write this review I am mindful of the 2 other apart hotels we’ve stayed on our Aus / NZ trip. The location & history of McArthur Chambers is brilliant. Close to Central Station, Queen Street Mall & the wider CBD. For its location the price was competitive. The exterior of the lobby was excellent. The room itself was enormous the decor decent, furnishings a bit dated @ lacklustre. The issue that really irked me was the number of passive aggressive warnings for infringements you could be fined for. $75 for lost keycard, $250 if there was the smell of smoke in the room (we don’t smoke or vape indoors but were terrified the smell from our clothes might transfer). We arrived after 4pm on a Saturday went through the cumbersome out of hours check in. Had to call out of hours admin to find a way to pay as they wanted it done between 9-11am. We were booked on a trip next morning at 8:30. We appreciate them accommodating to find a way. But the trip felt stressful from start to finish.

We had a lovely time in Brisbane while staying at Macarther Chambers. Everything we could possibly need was just steps from the door. The property was clean. The building was quiet even though we were in the middle of the CBD. I will certainly stay here next time I am in Brisbane and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Brisbane.

Great location, property was clean but needs a little updating in the kitchen area. Air Conditioning was a little load which caused some sleep problems. Not the properties fault but Brisbane is going through a major infrastructure upgrade which caused noise issues. I would recommend this hotel for location as it’s superb for trains & buses

This apartment was a great find in the CBD, close to options for eating out and groceries to cook for ourselves during a week long stay. Onsite parking at a reasonable rate was a bonus. Shame the pool was out of action and that we weren't told before we got there but other than that, it was the perfect stay.

The property is centrally located at the end of Queen Street mall and next to a supermarket. Central railway station is 5 minutes walk away and around 15 minutes walk away from the river. There are a few traces of the heritage nature within the public areas of the building. The apartment itself was adequate except the fittings and decor are in need of a refresh, it would have been nicer in earlier years, just after opening as apartments. Sound did tend to carry within the building, sometimes the corridor noises, the running of water and flushing of toilets sounded like others were in our apartment. On the other hand street noise was very limited.

Great central location if the city is where you want to be. Plenty of close options for dining out. Carparking is really handy but make sure it is organised before you arrive so you know what to do.

Overall, a good place to stay
Great location right in the Brisbane CBD. Easy walk to hundreds of shops and restaurants. The apartment was a little dated and dreary, but it is quite comfortable and clean. Full kitchen with all you need for basic cooking and dining. There is also a clothes washer and dryer. All the apartments in the building are individually owned, so I would imagine that other apartments could be decorated differently. Overall, a good place to stay. The manager and staff are professional and helpful.

Great location, spacious, comfortable. If you want a nice apartment in a great location in Brisbane close to all the city has to offer, this is hard to beat. Let down slightly by poor Wi-Fi connectivity, also not as well-cleaned as it could have been , and a view from the window of Australia Post staff working at their screens.

A clean reasonably well presented property. Addition costs incurred which are accommodation determined based on their inspection. The room "must" be left as you found it with the exception of bed makeup and towels. Everything else must be cleaned by the the occupant prior to leaving or you loose the security deposit without exception as explained by the sole receptionist who had only a reasonable grasp of english. No services outside 8 - 4:30 weekdays only.

The property was unique due to the history of the AMP building to the home and centre of Pacific War administration for General Douglas MacArthur. We loved the spaciousness and decor of our apartment along with the modern and very clean kitchen.

A beautiful historic building located in the heart of Brisbane. Lovely room, very well appointed. But.. for a four day stay there was only 2 bath towels provided and no opportunity to change out towels mid stay. Soap shampoo & conditioner was enough for one day only given the lux feel and price I expected more from the services provided.

Couch had stains on the seat, floor hadn't been vacuumed. Booked this hotel specifically to use the hottub as need hydration physio therapy daily- wasn't told until arrival that the hottub was out of order ( after calling to confirm). Lifts smelt strongly of vomit all weekend

Although pricing is quoted in AUD you are charged in USD currency. Property itself is very pretty but I won't book through VRBO again as the pricing is not accurate due to the currency exchange.

Second stay specifically for central location, easy secure parking @ $15 per day. Then so close to walk to catch the city river ferry. Or just outside the door hire an electric scooter or city push bike. Having a night in is easy with functional kitchen & washing machine dryer in room for longer stays. For Apple fans Brisbane flagship store in on ground level along with Big W & Woolworths on lower floors. Will stay again.

One of the best value for money venues in Brisbane....huge rooms,very clean, easy parking at a decent price, very central, with a woolworths and bottleshop within 5 minutes from your room....cant beat it
