We booked a room via last-minute.com which stated clearly that it slept 3 people, had a King bed, Queen sofa bed extra rollaway or trundle upon request.
After driving for 18 hours for a family funeral, the 3 of us were exhausted & greeted upon arrival by hotel staff who informed us that our room only had 1 bed, no sofa bed as stated by LASTMINUTE.COM & no extra beds of any description available for the night.
We then had the choice of either sleeping in our car or having 1 or 2 persons share the bed & the remainder to sleep on the floor with no extra bedding even though we had paid for the extra person & the bigger room that could accommodate.
The hotel told us to take it up with LASTMINUTE.COM because they were at fault for advertising the incorrect room description. LASTMINUTE.COM told us to send screenshots etc to support our case so we did. They did not reply after this so we emailed, spoke via chat to several people & also called. They were not empathetic in the slightest & did not try to help at all even though they knew how distressed we already were from travelling for the funeral of a loved one & having such an inconvenience forced upon us the night before the funeral.
I will NEVER book via LASTMINUTE.COM ever again & advise everybody else to use another booking service because if something goes wrong, they do not want to know about it. Safe travels to all & best of luck if you still decide to book with this unethical company!
