Clean campground with room to play and explore. Hiking paths are easily found, quite a few hills make this a moderate hike (kids do fine, but be careful if you have knee issues). There is a chance you will see herds of elk near the Dosewallips River, and the river itself is great fun. Nearby there are more places to explore, including a walk right on the Puget Sound shore of Hood Canal.
Where the Duckabush River joins the Hood Canal. Beautiful place for a walk, or take a few casts for sea-run cutthroat trout in the summer and salmon in the fall. Fishing slow this day, but we enjoyed the scenery.
