"This is a nice, old-fashioned, family-run hotel close by the lake shore, and about ten minutes walk from the rail stations and boat pier. Staff were nice and friendly and the hotel is clean, and quite basic - there was a good breakfast. A good option for anyone who wants a simple stay."

"The location was superb as it was literally a minute walk from the Grindewald station, and it's on the quieter side of the town. Staff were excellent, professional, helpful with advice. The breakfast was superb with a great variety and plenty of comfortable seating. The main issue was the hair found on blankets and in bathtub (photos taken, clearly not mine as I found them on arrival), there was also a red stain on one of the face washers/towels. "Hotel Schonegg in Wengen, Switzerland was amazing! First off, it rests in a beautiful small town on the edge of the Alps overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley. Second, the hotel is quiet, beautifully decorated and everything you’d want for a stay in Switzerland. We enjoyed a suite with large tub, shower and the most amazing views of the Alps.
