"We booked about a year in advance as we wanted to be in the area for our son’s wedding the next day. We paid top price but didn’t get a top hotel! Our bath panel had been severely damaged by water and whilst the aircon cooling worked well it was like having a tractor in the room! Service in the restaurant was good however our main courses were really poor. We had a tough as old boots sirloin steak and I had the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had in a restaurant. "The Barnsdale hotel is in a lovely and convenient setting with ample parking.
The Sydnet spa is great and the pool was wonderful for an afternoon cool down. Plus super cute Highland cows!
Breakfast and dinner is wonderful in the beautiful courtyard.
The Barnsdale is an old building which means the lack of air conditioning was a challenge during the heatwave.
The power shower remains a mystery why anyone thought this was a good choice to install!"
