Good location, reasonable price, nice sized rooms. Dated, but nice. The restaurant was no better than average, but the breakfast selections and qualify were good.

I’ve been using this hotel for years, always friendly and helpful. The only complaint is they have moved the reception area near the bar area, you cannot hear anything when talking to the receptionist as it’s too loud especially when theirs a live band on. It’s not good when the receptionist have to wear ear plugs. Wanted ask somethings to the receptionist and gave up.

Great location.
Good location close to train station. A little dated but nice vibe. Very competent and friendly staff. Lovely breakfast buffet. Also as we had an early departure they provided a breakfast takeaway bag which was lovely.

Always a great stay at Gustaf Wasa, The breakfast staff are helpful with my dietary requirements (Thanks) The receptionist staff are very friendly and welcoming especially Hanna. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again.

Big disappointment
I can’t believe the hotel is actually aspiring for a 4-star standard. To me it’s a clear 3-star hotel. The hotel is in need of a renovation as it’s quite run down. The bath room was of sub 3-star standard in my opinion. Plastic flooring, almost 1 cm gap between bath tub and wall so there was water all over the floor after a shower, the shower handle felt really cheap and there was only a body wash and soap (no shampoo, conditioner or anything else). Also there was no mini bar / fridge in the room. The bed was soft and I liked the bed and pillows. I’ve stayed at many hotels and these pillows were actually one of the nicer pillows I ever slept on. Maybe I was super tired, I don’t know. Breakfast was nice and they had a large selection of things to eat. Service was also good. No complaints there. We will came back to Borlänge, but we will most likely not stay here again.

At the hotel restaurant we were first ignored when sitting down by a table to order dinner, when asking to order, we were arrogantly dismissed because the table was booked and we hadn’t booked any other table that evening.. There was no interest in showing us to any of the multiple free tables in the room next doors. We had to go outside to find another restaurant late that evening (which of course did not accomplish our expectation of a calm hotel dinner with good food).

Great hotel in central Borlänge with kids
Very nice service and fantastic reception staf. The beeakfast was great with everything for different family member, from eight to 44 year, including local specialities which was surprisingly good tasting. Some parts of the hotel was a little bit unmodern but clean and useable such as the bathroom.

Good hotel, good location
The hotel is close to the city center and a few minutes drive to the Cupola shopping center. My stay was pleasant, staff was very pleasant and helpful. The only problem for me was that the room I stayed in was very small - could not easily open the suitcase. I understood that there are bigger rooms, but the category I purchased comes in .... very small room size.

Nice and Very Convenient for Bus/Train
Nice, bigger hotel with good food and drinks in the restaurant that is close to the Bus/Train Station (through the parking lot and across the street). The hotel had thick walls where our room was, so it was quiet. The room was not tiny. It was very clean. Sweden was very hot when we were there, so our room was fairly warm. If there was air conditioning, we couldn’t tell.

Comfy and very convenient for the station
Literally over the road from the rail station in Borlänge, and it is only a 10 minute walk into the centre of town. Friendly staff and comfy rooms. Note the associated restaurant is closed on Sundays, so you will need to find somewhere in town to eat on that night

Melodifestivalen på rummet
Hade en övernatnning på en pappa/dotterhelg. Helt okej. Spelrum åt barnen och nånga stora gemesamma ytor utanför rummet. Vi hade mellomys på rummet och därför möblerade om sängar och bord lite och till min förvåning så kom inte alls mycket damm fram från bakom sängarna. Lite kallt på rummet, men varma sköna täcken så det gjorde inget.
