Initially given a room that hadn't been cleaned so offered a smaller room for the same price which didn’t seem right to me. Then told that the restaurant was fully booked so had to make do with the bar menu which was very limited. Food was good and the staff friendly. I expected more from this hotel.

Great location. Staff helpful, friendly. The rooms are fine. Fairly basic. It’s basic clean: Could use a deep clean especially bathroom and skirtings… a bit grubby in places. I’d definitely stay again. Nothing too significant would prevent a comfortable stay..

Staff at check in was friendly. We booked a Classic Family room just for a night to catch our flight home next morning from EDI as it is just a 20 min drive by car and didn't want to pay hundreds to stay in the city. Room felt dated with visible painted over damage on wall squeaky door and lose window handle. The beds weren't comfortable and overall it was noisy. Thr bathroom had quiet a few tiles that were broken and it wasn't the cleanest around the sink. The toilet seat was fairly lose. Was ok for a night but would not stay there again in the same room . Maybe other rooms are better? Cant comment on food as we opted not to have breakfast and found the pub's prices to expensive for us Decided to get pizza from Barracuda which was really tasty.
