Perfect room to discover the national park

Very friendly staff, lovely clean room and great breakfast. Bathroom is small but very clean and has everything you need. Location is perfect to explore Triglav National Park. We had a lovely stay, thank you very much!

Comfortable pension At the base of the Julian Alps

A wonderful stay in a beautiful Alpine setting. The room was modern, clean and with a balcony from which we had a good view of the valley. Only fault was the minimal number of electrical outlets. The hosts were gracious and attentive.

Great little gem near lakes and mountains

Great little place tucked away near Lake Bohimj. Very friendly staff, and the room was newly renovated. Excellent access to local fishing and hiking.

Gorgeous location, clean and comfortable

We had a short but wonderful stay at Hotel & Villa Stare. It is breathtakingly beautiful here. Despite our late check-in the owner was able to accommodate us (thank you!). The room and furniture are very thoughtfully designed, simple yet modern and functional - very impressive minimalist and cozy space, with great facilities where it matters (clean well-functioning bathrooms). The breakfast included was also very tasty -- homemade pickled vegetables and the fruits and veggies were delicious. Generous with bacon, eggs, sausage, pastries, sweets with a killer landscape. Right by the mountains and a very pretty stream, we would stay here again!

Stunning stay, wonderful scenery, lovely place

So a last minute trip to lake bled led us to stay here at lake bohinj, 30mins from bled. The lake and surrounding area at bohinj are absolutely stunning and the hotel villa stare was wonderful and great value. We got a free upgrade and liked it so much we decided to stay another night. Slap savica waterfall is a short easy walk away though the keen hikers would prefer the trip up to plansarko jerezo past an even more impressive waterfall and amazing views. For a full day hike keep going up to the double lakes and even attempt mount triglav. 2 mins from the hotel is the impressive gostilna erlah. Go here to eat!

Very pretty, quiet location

This is a Pension, so don't expect 5-star facilities. The rooms are small and basic - no phone or TV, but free WiFi. . Our bathroom was extremely 'tired' - a lump broken out of the sink had been badly repaired with glue, the shower tiles were as clean as they could be, but also very old. Lots of hot water, though. The net curtain at the window was ripped from top to bottom (concealed by the way the curtain hung) and the space between the bed and the wall was extremely small with a radiator making it even narrower. You had to shuffle sideways. The breakfasts were good and plentiful, with lots of variety although proper fruit juice would have been nice, not the stuff reconstituted with water and why use cartons of UHT milk - surely fresh milk would be better, especially for cereal. Although they advertise half-board, they don't always do dinner - best to enquire in advance. All in all, OK to stay in for a night or two, but not if you have great expectations.

Well-located, kind owners, beautiful scenery. Good breakfast. Have dinner at the restaurant located .03 miles from the hotel...fresh fish from the lake doesn't get any better.

Highlight of Slovenia

This was a perfect, exceptionally beautiful, blissful place. The gentleman administering the pensione was very helpful, but not at all intrusive. I cannot praise this place-and Bohinj-enough. So much to explore and enjoy! I wish we could have stayed longer; one day was certainly not enough.

Friendly hotel close to Lake Bohinj

Smaller than expected room with a balcony and great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Friendly and accommodating staff offset the fact that the rooms are claustrophobic and in need of renovation. Clean, warm and cosy though.
