I stayed at Maxxroyal in Bodrum from June 26 to July 2, 2024. Generally, the hotel is very luxurious, with a great beach, pools, gym, and many amenities. However, we found a few serious problems with our room as follows:
There was a panel that divided the room into two sections. One side faced the windows and was very bright, while the other side, which included the bathroom, mirrors, and closet, was extremely dark with very poor lighting. We could hardly see our clothing, and the magnifying mirror was fixed, so we couldn’t move it to the brighter side of the room.
There was a step a few meters from the window without any lighting or sign, making it easy for anyone to trip when stepping towards the window.
The labels on the switches were black on a black background, making them difficult to read without turning on our mobile flashlight.
There was no shelf for towels.

Disliked: Cleanliness
A journey that was supposed to be a relaxing honeymoon turned into a vacation from hell. Positives 1st: brand new, beautiful resort (public spaces & outside), especially the greenery, Spago is an excellent restaurant with nice staff. Negatives: MASSIVE noise disturbances every day until past 1 AM from nearby Scorpios. According to staff, there are no rooms where you could escape the loud music. Rooms are poorly planned, extremely dark bathroom & closet area, not enough closet space. Our room was poorly maintained, including dust, dirty cups & stains on the floor (over 2000€/ night). Resort is huge, impossible to walk, especially during heat, you must call a buggy for transportation. Sometimes it works, sometimes you have to wait 20-30 minutes (!!!) for a buggy to arrive. During our week long stay, the occupancy was only between 50-58% (according to staff) & we still had to wait a lot (prime season July). Despite the super low occupancy & the hotel being informed that this was our honeymoon, we were not offered any type of upgrade. Onto the worst part of the vacation: our suite was in a free standing building on the outer row of the hotel premises. While we were asleep, between 01:30 & 02:00 AM A GROUP OF PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO BREAK INTO OUR ROOM, TRYING TO KICK & BEAT THE DOOR IN. The assault lasted 25 minutes. We were scared for our safety & lives. Our initial call for help was not taken seriously & we were not pleased with the initial handling of the intruders by the hotel.
