Polkerris Bed & Breakfast

Polkerris Bed & Breakfast

8/10 Good
"Polkerris is the very pretty ancestral home of a Jamaican family who still live there and run the B & B. It’s perched atop a cliff overlooking the sea & the views are STUNNING. The home is immaculately maintained. Anywhere on the property is a great place to sit for incredible views. I truly wasn’t quite sure what I booked when I booked it, all I knew was that I wanted a nice place close to the hip strip but away from the bulk of the evening noise. I found that there was some noise from music down de road on Sat night but from Sun - Thurs it was blissfully quiet. The house is located a 3-4 min walk up a gentle hill. The base of the road is a casino & across from that is Margaritaville. Then a 6-8 min walk to the right takes you to Dr. Cave Beach while a 6-8 min walk to the left takes you to Pork Pit. It’s about a 20 -25 min walk to Sam Sharpe Square in town. Laura runs the family’s business & she is a wonderful, warm, welcoming presence. She was very accommodating. Next is Krystal and the other ladies who work there - so friendly & warm. They cook & serve home cooked breakfast everyday & you can choose JA or American style dishes. I chose JA all de way and each dish was glorious. They accommodated me with a special request & I’m so grateful. My room was clean, cool & safe. I did think it would be bigger, but that’s on me. I also think sheers in addition to the heavy drapes would be great to let in light when needing privacy. Otherwise, no notes!"
