"This spot was the highlight of our trip! We wished we had booked more time here. This is a set of four little apartment style rooms in what looks like a large shipping container. It's an unassuming building from back that is accessed of a single lane private road. The private property surrounded by mountains and sheep, with a floor to ceiling windowed wall to take in the view. The room was spotless, and featured an antler chandlier. The beds were comfy our unit had a mini kitchen with a Nescafe coffee machine and pods, a mini fridge, kettle, toaster microwave and dishes. Two stools to sit at the counter to eat and an outdoor picnic table. Did I mention the view, because WOW!! In anticipation of arrival we recieved a welcome email and our key was in a lockbox just outside our room. The owners are just an email away for anything, but just let us be which was great. I HIGHLY recommend this place!"

10/10 Excellent
"Very clean room, I enjoyed using the Highland Soap Company products in the bathroom. Plentiful water/tea/biscuits supplied during our stay - real taste of the highlands. Breakfast was delicious at the restaurant located within the hotel. Convenient store just 1 minute walk from the hotel which is well stocked with regular supermarket items. Parking out front of the hotel was easy to access but did get busy at times, I was able to find parking down the street. Overall really lovely hotel worth the hefty pricetag given its location - would definitely return again if I visit Portree. Only downside was that there was no lift, but luckily we packed light."

Portree Youth Hostel

Portree Youth Hostel

10/10 Excellent
"This is a great, low-budget option that is family-friendly, clean, and quiet. Staff were all super friendly. The hostel is centrally located and across the street from a large, inexpensive car park. Everything in Portree is a short walking distance away. We stayed in a private room for 2 nights. The bathroom and shower are small and the water pressure is suitable for an elephant, which is great, but the shower head would not stay put and the pole it was attached to kept falling off, which we simply laughed about. I assume anyone expecting absolute perfection would look for a much more expensive hotel option. We were quite happy with the hostel and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank-you!"
