it seems that most properties in europe are leaning towards false advertising and deceptive practices. this property does not have air conditioning unless you consider an oscillating fan a/c. once we checked in a realized it didn't have a/c they wouldn't allow us to check out without penalty. save your money and look elsewhere.

Historic castle
Schloss Binningen is an historic castle in a quiet sbuburb or Basle, well-served by tram and 'bus. The rooms are simple and open, which pleases me. The breakfast is good. The restaurant in the castle is very good: short menus, and well-chosen wines. The service is attentive but not intrusive. Nothing in Basle feels affordable, but it is pleasing.

Nice clean and comfortable hotel, extremely helpful staff and underground carpark. Only minor issue was the wifi, temperamental connection, and not capable of Netflix streaming. I only gave a mid score for local area as i did not get to explore, it was however very conveniently located for the business meetings i had in Allschwil

Hotel was very clean with large rooms. Morning breakfast was very nice. There is a very good selection of restaurant close by. We liked the Italian. I will stay there again.

A nice surprise outside the city center
This hotel is a bit out of the center of town, but easily accessible to affordable, safe parking and about 2 minutes from a tram stop. The tram runs often and takes only about 5 minutes to get to the center of town. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff was wonderful and helpful when we arrived after 7pm when the desk closed. They put our key in a lock box and provided all of the information that we needed. The breakfast was delicious and set in a very relaxing dining room. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're driving and need a place to park.

Nice option for Basel in a Historic Castle
Well connected to Basel with a short trip by tram, this is a great option for visiting Basel and not so expensive. I love the history of this complex of buildings and the hotel has the typical high standard swiss style.

Hotel guests enjoy free rides per street car to City of Basel. Breakfast is very good, rooms are great, just not clean enough.

Swiss hospitality, good price, gourmet opportunity
Loved our one night stay here! The location is a little ways out of Basel but convenient by train or yellow tram. We appreciated the genuine Swiss hospitality. We were warmly greeted, enjoyed the 'superior' room on the third floor and we're delighted with the gourmet meal (we chose the 4 course complete meal) at the beautiful Swiss restaurant on the grounds. The included breakfast was excellent as was the excellent service! Perfect!!

Not easy check in after 6pm
Had a hard time finding hotel due to name was not as described. Also had a hard time checking in due to no one working at desk after 6pm and we came late so it took quiet some time to get to our room. But once there, dinner was nice on the terrace.

Nice place next to excellent sister restaurant @ Schloss Binningen. Unfortunately the water from the shower seemed to not drain away properly two times during our stay and it flooded the bathroom/hall a little bit. Have stayed before and would stay again.

Peaceful surroundings!
This is my second stay at this hotel. It is a very clean hotel with a lovely surrounding. The bathroom s beautiful with a separate bath and shower. Breakfast was simple but delicious with lots of different choices of cheese, fresh bread, smoked salmon and a coffee machine. You also get a free transport card which lets to travel into Basel for the duration of your stay. The only improvement i can suggest is a few more amenities in the bedroom i.e. cotton pads etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to my next visit.

Hotel has plenty of character, but did not stay long enough to explore the town. Friendly staff although breakfast on second day suffered due to lack of staff. Pity that you have to pay 10 SF to park a car overnight.

A very nice hotel close to Basel
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the hotel. Accomodation was very good, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was extremely good and the transport to Basel was close at hand and very frequent. We would like to visit this hotel again.

Nice change from corporate business hotels. Spacious, clean and friendly. A short tram ride to city center. Only downsides: internet coverage was spotty in the room - had to go into the hallway a few times to pick up signal; there is no one on front desk duty in the evening or overnight if there is an issue.

On entering room twelve you find a short corridor with two doors the door on the left is the large well appointed bathroom and the door in-front leads to a large bright comfortable room with windows to two aspects. Coat hooks and hanging space are in the corridor and in the main room is the bed and flat screen t.v and a desk. The room and the bathroom were clean and tidy we only had one pillow each but a few minutes after speaking to the helpful receptionist extras were provided .The complementary breakfast was great and had lots of choice to tempt any fussy traveller. We only spent one night here but would of happily stayed longer.In summary a very good choice on tram line 10 ten minutes from Basel station and the centre highly recommended.

We had a fantastic night at hotel castel garden the staff were very friendly the rooms were big and spotless and bright . We were right next to the tram stop into town easy and convenient. Parked the car in the underground car park. Cost 10 chf Enjoyed the breakfast would defiantly come back . Only thing wrong was the result of the match . Thanks for a great time .

Top quality and full of character
The hotel has now changed it's name to the Schloss Hotel which was a little confusing. A lovely hotel with large rooms and a great full sized and deep bath (bliss). Had a relaxed feel. High quality fixture and fittings and a really good breakfast. Good value for money in Switzerland. Only downside was the general neighbourhood which lacked the eating opportunities afforded by being in the centre of Bern. Also Wifi was a bit hit and miss (solved by sitting on the toilet rather than in the bedroom :-)

The hotel name is in German, not French(?) as named on my itinerary. The Schloss is small and the garden is concrete. That said, it is in the suberbs, with convenient tram link into Basel. Lovely room, good breakfast.

Delightful Hotel in Binningen
Hotel space was quite large and the staff was exceptional in meeting our requests. It was very hot in Basel during our stay and the hotel managed to be comfortable even without air conditioning. The breakfast was excellent and we dined at the attached restaurant one night - exceptional food!

Business Trip to Basel
A lovely hotel with a friendly atmosphere and excellent value for money. Public transport connections to the city center are plentiful and, failing that, it's a 20 minute walk to the main station.

Alles hat wunderbar geklappt. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und trotz der Coronazeit alles perfekt. Das Zimmer war sauber und gross genug auch für meinen Landseer :-) Das Personal war nett und hilfsbereit! Alles in allem perfekt!!

The pictures of the hotel shows the castle restaurant as representative of the hotel....and it was not the same at all. The actual hotel is in another building across from the actual castle restaurant and looks like a warehouse building. It was stated that the hotel had air-conditioning but when we asked to with to a room with air-conditioning we were told that they have no such rooms due to the fact that the building is too old to allow that kind of installations....it was very hot indeed! Outside the hotel they had put up a grill/drinks street restaurant that attracted a lot of noisy people and as we had a room on the 1st floor and HAD to have the window open (no air-conditioning...) it was very disturbing even after closing hours since the people stayed after closing hours. Another detail, not really important, they claimed to have a library and when we asked where it was we were pointed to a bookshelf next to the reception...not really a library...the bathroom had no hooks for towels and that was a bit difficult when we had showered and wanted to dry them for the morning shower. The breakfast was completely OK, not exceptional but OK.
