"The hotel itself was fine, my major complaint would be that we were on the second floor and there was no elevator. However, at this time - mid-June 2026 - there is EXTENSIVE construction going on on the main road (Paul Bunyan Rd). The entire street is dug up, making accessing the hotel very difficult. "If you love a rustic, quiet setting by the lake and not be annoyed by the lack of 'newness' or up-to-date appliances and amenities then this is the place for you. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay but only because of the setting. From my understanding this lodge/resort was sold fairly recently and is in the process of being updated. The main lodge is very modern and up-to-date but prices were out of our range. We also have 2 small dogs and I don't believe you can have dogs in the main...
