"I had a disappointing experience with Expedia and the villa listed on their platform. This villa was advertised as being near downtown Ubud, but in reality, it was located far out in the countryside, nowhere close to the city. This false advertisement caused a lot of inconvenience, especially since there was no taxi service available for pickup or transportation. "Stay was during May-25 at the Akohara retreat in Ubud. On arrival greeted by staff with flower garland, drinks and local traditional dance. This is definitely a couples retreat. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. "We loved the quiet, luxurious ambience at The Ridge and had a super relaxing stay. The room was stylish and comfortable and the view of the ridge from the private pool and terrace was stunning. "The property is good. Friendly and excellent staff. Nice breakfast. Indoor pool was awesome. The only drawback was food at the end of the day. Gojek had a tough time getting drivers to deliver food because the place was kind of remote. Nothing to do with the property "

"I rarely write a review for a property but this one deserves it. We stayed at more expensive Hyatt properties during our one week stay but this one actually made us feel like we were living at our own home. Their hospitality and service was on par with Hyatt Alilas Villas and Andaz Bali, but they went above and beyond when we had to leave the hotel at 4am to catch our flight. They had a breakfast box packaged up in the car ready for our one hour drive to the airport. They also grow their own veggies for the in hotel restaurant and the staff was excited to share the details with us when we stopped in for a bite. I can’t wait to go back Bonus: it’s only 3 minute walk to the Monkey Forest"

"Had the absolute best time at Ayung Resort! The staff were absolutely amazing and we loved getting to go to tea time in the afternoon and hang by the beautiful pool. We had a driver, Rena, pick us up from the airport and he was the best tour guide ever —sweetest man ever and we spent the entire next day with him having him show us around the island! Couldn’t recommend him enough!!"
