"I'm not sure how this property has such high reviews. It's below average and far overpriced. More comparable to a Super 8. Which is a shame because I remembered it being so much better. It's been years since I've stayed here and unfortunately it's very outdated and needs a lot of work to upgrade some things. We rented a room that has the king room and then a sleep sofa. The sleeper sofa mattress was absolutely disgusting. Stained up. All the springs sticking up. We asked if they had a rollaway instead and they did not. The only blanket in the room for the sleeper sofa was super thin. We went and got 2 more trying to help with cushioning and warmth. We also had to go get more towels because there were only 2 in the room and there were 3 guests on our reservation. The pillows were very lumpy also so if you have issues with that, bring your own. The fridge also made a super loud noise.
We only stayed one night. It was okay and a roof over our heads but nothing to write home about. "
"Chose this motel for location close to hospital and Southgate Mall. Small side-street, no traffic. Helpful, friendly staff. The room's heater/fan had a thermostat and seemed to work fine. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. There was a sharp edge on the desktop that needs to be repaired. We could not figure out the TV control, and the staff was helpful, but this TV system was not the best setup. The dining area was small and overcrowded at peak breakfast time, but meal options were good. The room had a refrigerator and microwave - we used both. Will stay here again. "
"As always The Wren was an exceptional place to stay. Welcoming to pups and the employees who Checked us in and checked us out were friendly and fun to chat with. There was one exception. As we were leaving we asked for a towel from the front desk. Our dog had jumped in the river and we wanted to dry him off a bit before we got in the car. It looked as though the employees were having a meeting. One man looked at us and said, we only have towels with urine on them. We were taken aback a little. I informed him that we had stayed there and paid the $35 pet fee. Your property doesn’t have towels at the desk?
It was very off putting. We love The Wren we will stay there again but that guy was a jerk.
To reiterate it was not any employee that checked us in or out. They were great! Whoever that other guy is during the morning huddle is not a good representation of your property. "
