Breakfast was superb with a slight daily change to the menu.
When you are at the main door, you cannot imagine once they open, how beautiful the home and gardens are. We were there in September, and what made this stay so wonderful, were Michael & Gilles. You could not ask for more accommodating, kind people. They were always available to us and recommended some wonderful restaurants. The breakfasts were wonderful at this B&B, and it was very convenient to all the sites in the area.
Gil and Michael are in a class of their own. The property is meticulously maintained. Beautiful and large spaces that feels like you are in a castle. Super clean and organized. The guys are extremely hospitable and charming. The location of the B&B is in center of the old town and yet you feel like you are in a chateaux in the countryside. Beautiful large gardens. It doesn’t get any better than this. Well done Michael and Gil for providing such a perfect environment for your guests.
The hosts, Michael and Gilles made us feel right at home at their beautiful place. The gardens and the home were magnificent. They are very friendly and centrally located. We had access to a living room and a spacious garden with our room. They are very close to the meeting place for many tours and a laundromat is close too. This was an unexpected gem! We recommend it highly.

The house, courtyards and gardens were absolutely beautiful making it a wonderful place to stay. And the owners were extremely accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend.
Absolutely in love with the views, the vibe, the hospitality, and of course, the location. We had an incredible stay and wished we had booked to stay longer. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, great amenities, and charming hosts.
Michael and Gilles have created a beautiful oasis for travelers. Their home, the setting, the history of the area, all combined to make a perfect trip. We will definitely be going back.
The property is a beautiful bed and breakfast (guest house) in a revamped old mansion. There are five rooms, ours was beautifully decorated and comfortable.
Michael and Giles are wonderful hosts, friendly outgoing and fun.
The (included) breakfast was one of the highlights of our trip to France, Giles is the chef and makes almost everything that is served from scratch.
You will need to manoeuvre some stairs and be careful of some low ceilings and beams but I doubt there is a better place to stay in Bayeux.
Gilles and Michael have a beautifully restored chateau right in city center. Very accessible by foot to restaurants and city sites. They are perfect hosts always very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. A beautifully set breakfast table each morning with delicious food.
Michael and Gilles are wonderful hosts !
Everything perfect !
The house has a huge garden !
The parking is close to the house and you have access directly from it. The breakfast is wonderfully served.
A lucky find — a cloistered oasis in the heart of busy Bayeux. Beautiful gardens that make it seem like you're out in the country, until you step outside and find numerous restaurants and shops less than two minutes away.
Our hosts could not have been more gracious and welcoming.
Micael and Giles were perfect hosts. The breakfast was abundant and tasteful. The property was originally built in the 1700's and lovingly renovated by the current owners. Amazing property, amazing hosts! Highly recommended.

Our hosts, Gilles and Michael, could not have been more gracious and welcoming.
This wonderful property sits in the heart of Bayeux with ample parking. Surrounded by a beautiful walled garden, this former convent has a unique and relaxing atmosphere. Our hosts, Gilles and Michael were most helpful and genuinely nice people to talk to. Breakfasts were first rate and I am so happy that we booked to stay here. We have recommended Clos de la Croix to friends. Thank you to Gilles and Michael.
A sightseeing trip to Paris , the hotel is central and a great base , the 2 bars 1 at ground level and 1 rooftop are very friendly and welcoming ,and the staff look happy and enjoying themselves which gives the hotel a great atmosphere
Fabulous place to enjoy a very old but renovated manor while in Bayeux. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, modern in many ways and a very large and modern private bathroom.
However, the best are the two owners (Michael and Guisse). Delightful, warm and helpful people!
Very close and walkable to restaurants and cafes as well as cathedral and tapestry museum along with meeting points to war memorials.
Easy parking in lot behind the manor with access to the garden.
Staying at Le Clos de la Croix was an unforgettable experience – one of the finest B&Bs we’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the two gracious hosts, whose genuine hospitality and impeccable attention to detail made us feel completely at home.
They provided tailored recommendations for local restaurants, sights, and hidden treasures – always spot-on and perfectly suited to our tastes. Their thoughtful guidance truly enriched our stay in Normandy.
Each morning began with a delightful, personalized breakfast served on a beautifully eclectic table setting – a feast for both the palate and the eyes. Every detail was curated with elegance and charm, turning breakfast into a cherished ritual.
The garden is simply breathtaking: expansive, filled with blooming flowers, and dotted with peaceful corners perfect for reading or quiet reflection. It’s a sanctuary of beauty and calm.
Le Clos de la Croix is much more than a place to sleep – it’s a destination in itself. A rare combination of warmth, sophistication, and aesthetic delight. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
Michael and Gilles host their beautiful guesthouse with charm, humour and a relaxed, but scrupulous, attention to their guests. An astonishing room with unexpected design flourishes and a lovely comfortable and large bed. Breakfast is wonderful too; starring the homemade jams and crumbles of Gilles plus their unique choices of crockery. Very convenient for the centre of the town and for car parking. But really this brilliant guesthouse is about the exquisite warmth of the hosts Gilles and Michael.
At the end of our two week adventures in France, this was our favorite place to stay and the place we would most unreservedly recommend. Thank you Michael and Gilles for your wonderful hospitality and care of the hotel particulier le clos de la croix. À bientôt!

Loved our stay!
My wife and I had a wonderful three days at this bed and breakfast in August of 2025. The property is beautiful with whimsical decorations. Our room was large and clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was excellent and our hosts were very warm and welcoming. The house was very convenient to all of the attractions in Bayeux. You should stay here!
This is a Gem…. Absolutely loved our stay here, we will be back 1000% ….. the host did an amazing job capturing this amazing time piece and gave us such a warm welcoming experience. We loved them and their hospitality. Highly recommend
