A fading gem in Batu Pahat

My 4th repeated stay since 2013 while the location continued to make this venue an excellent choice for visitors taking public transport and that it is near many good eateries, the condition of the rooms has been on the down size, especially in the last five years. It is not so much of the cleanliness of the room, but the fixtures ought to be replaced - especially the mattress. The metal framed door to the wash room for example was misaligned resulted in the door could not be closed. Likewise for the door to the room that needs to be closed manually, hard. The fixed shower head is not exactly friendly for guests who prefer a little flexibility of using hand held shower head.connected to a flexible hose. I have stayed in many small hotels that have both - the Landmark hotel I last stay three months ago is one example in BP.

The location of the hotel was good. However, the cleanliness of the hotel was very disappointed. The bed sheet looked dirty and yellowish. One of the towels was stains with blood. I also found some hair strands on the bed. When we feedback to the counter, they arranged someone to check the room, and they claims that they had just make up the bed. I feel itch and uncomfortable the whole night, then we decided to check out the next day.

Our hotel door didn't work with the access pass, but the hotel staff couldn't offer any way around it, other than to ask us to go down to the lobby whenever we needed it to be opened. We asked to change room but it couldn't be done. In the end, we had to downgrade a room with no additional money refunded. Some of the charging points were also not working.

Stayed in this hotel a few times. The staff are always pleasant and friendly. Hotel location is convenient, it is near to the Regional bus station and taxi stand. Eating places are also available nearby.

Comfortable stay.

Good location. Walking distance to the local and regional bus terminals and taxi station. There are a few eating places around the hotel. Hotel reception staff are very friendly. The hotel is a bit old but the hotel room is clean and comfortable enough. There are no F&B facilities in the hotel since 01 Mar 2018.

A "boutique"no more!

My 4th stay over the past five years, compared to the good old days when the hotel was newly open, the recent stays show the hotel is on the down hill. This time round, the basin was not functioning properly (unable to release water and the tap has loosened), aircon took a long time to cool the room - even during night time. It was really not value for money M$109+10 for two single beds and not even a mini refrigerator. There is insufficient light for reading at night as the room was fairly dark because the fancy lighting was at one little corner. My booking was via Hotel.com but the bill shows it was through Expedia.

Overall the cleanliness of the room is rather disappointing. There are stains over the free towels provided. Perhaps the mattress or the cover is not thoroughly clean as well, we were sneezing most of the time in the room. The water in the shower room is not properly heated (centralised heating system), taking a shower at night is a real nightmare.

The first and probably the last time

What is stated in the reservation is not what you get when you checked in. In the reservation, it is stated that the room comes with breakfast. But the hotel claimed that they stopped offering breakfast for a long time already. In the reservation, we requested for a two double beds but it came with 1 king size bed instead. And I have to pay extra for an extra bed.
