We felt welcomed the moment we arrived, enjoyed the sunrise from the huge windows overlooking the water, and the delicious continental breakfast. The location overlooks a lovely beach and walking path and we enjoyed the serenity and delicious dining in South Portland as well as the convenience to Old Port. "I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn by the bay in Portland Maine. It was an excellent experience and not terribly expensive for booking. I loved how the staff was able to upgrade my room just from checking in alone. Recommend anyone passing by to at least stay here just for the heck of it if you got time and money to spare."

"There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom or a shaving mirror. Had a hard time with the temperature control. The parking was not free. Our room shook as though it had tremors. The breakfast was good. The staff helpful. The pool was also nice. "

"Our stay at The Aloft was great. The beds are comfy. The coffee was good. My only issue is the shower stall being placed basically out in the open as if the bathroom designer forgot to add walls. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay."

"Clean, beautiful room with a vintage feel. Great staff, very attentive. If you have a show to go to they offer a car service to take you there. It’s a 5 minute walk to the theater though so that was nice. Tandem bakery is right next door. You have to get coffee and pastries. Make sure to get a loaded biscuit. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay at The Docent's Collection. The staff was outstanding (shout-out to Spencer and Sarah!). The apartment we stayed in was roomy, impeccably clean, and well-furnished. We had everything we needed for our stay. Security was great, parking was easy, and right next to a police parking lot, so very secure. We look forward to staying here again!"

Had to get towels at the desk each time for the hot tub. only successfully used it once. the last time I got in when they opened, and they decided that was a good time to refill, so the cold water poured in. It became Luke warm like the shower. Very slow elevator. Take the stairs"
